I've got $700 USD worth of advertising on MillionDollarHomepage.com. Worth anything?

Hi All,

I've acquired a domain name that is linked by the original MillionDollarHomepage.com.

It's right at the top and is 7 squares in a row.

I notice that Namepros.com have their $100 worth of advertising on there .

The plot would have cost the orginal owner $700 USD to buy. But this is a spot right at the top of one of the most famous website on the Internet.

I did a quick search on google news for Million dollar homepage and the last article mentioning it was this month!!

Naturally I feel privileged in a way even though I can't change the text on the link, it's still great to have my own plot on there now.

I just wonder if it's worth anything now... after all, there was rediculous hype at the time. Every man and his dog tried to copy the concept - but only one had the success that this original had.

MillionDollarHomepage.com still has an Alexa rank of 27,863 which in it's self is no mean feat! It still has steady traffic.

Just wondering your thoughts.

well if you have the name you should be able to see if you're getting any traffic from that site. it was a huge thing, but I doubt it still refers enough visitors. but it would be interesting to see your numbers
a place without traffic of course has a bit of sentimental value, but I don't think it's enough to profit...

Might still be getting you some traffic, however, no real highly targeted traffic, so I personally do not think it is worth all that much. But if the link stays on there for infinity, each visitor will ad up.

My website has had 28 hits referred from MillionDollarHomepage.com since the 10th Feb. So it appears there is trickling traffic.

I bought it mainly for sentimental value as you predicted .

There are a few plots on there that are linked to domains that don't exist... but they are only single square ones which didn't seem viable to buy.

Attached is an image showing my little "Piece of history".

The one labelled PDW isn't taken either just to the left of my big green strip if anyone wants it.

April 21, 2010 I wrote an article titled Million Dollar Available Domain Names . I scanned the domains and posted the available ones. 103 total were available at that time.

I did a follow up post, as 15 domains were registered from my post.

I did do a scan last night and came up with 100ish available domains that are on MillionDollarHomepage.com but nothing that great.

One thing that I found a bit odd, was the domains that were available and on the site.. weren't showing a link from MDHP?

That was the only reason I didn't post the available list. It really loses it's thunder if it doesn't show the link from the PR3 site.

2RichMoms.com appears to, but it depends on what link checker you use. Yahoo.com site: 2richmoms.com displays the MDHP link..
