It seems to me that what .mobi needs in the US is a huge injection of marketing. It could be billboards or tv spots, but an even better way to go in my humble opinion is to do a marketing partnership with a major sales outlet, say T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, At&T or any other one that I have accidentally left out here.
The .mobi people need to think of a nationwide launch that could put .mobi on the map, and we as .mobi owners have the responsibility to develop our sites (myself included) so the people who visit the sites on their phones have more to look at than search engine results that direct them to .coms which may or may not load properly on their phones.
