Is this PAYPAL Scam ? From Digital Point

Lets start it this way...
I traded with a guy $10, i gave him $10 in Money-Bookers....
He sent me $15 in paypal....
the transaction was complete....after just 1 to 2 days, i received this email from paypal:-

what does it mean ? paypal has taken my $15 on hold.....
is this guy charging it back or is paypal doing it ???

It says unauthorized payment, meaning he's probably hijacked someone's PayPal account.

it was just a transfer from money-booker to paypal, which is not allowed i think by paypal people !
I just told them i communicated with him in the Forum and he confirmed it....

I have ID in Money-Bookers of sending him the payment, but how can i give it to paypal people as its illegal to transfer money from one a.c to another ISNT ???

If you think it's against their TOS or .... possibly even against the law - Why do it?
<Depending on where you're at - this could be considered a 50% loan , Which could be quite illegal>

Was this member new -or- very established over there ?

doesnt matter who he's delt with, paypal dont like this kind of trade off, seems hes either:

A: hijacked someones paypal - if so kiss your money goodbye
B: done a charge back - if so kiss your money goodbye
C: paypal have found the transaction - if so kiss your money goodbye

this happened to me last year, i traded $200 paypal with moneybrookers, paypal informed me of the exact same thing you have above, i sent them all the details and they pointed me to there TOS which stated i couldnt do what we did, you have to provide a service or sell goods to him, not say you traded the cash out, its all in the wording.

im thinking you've just learnt a $15 lesson.

I had the same thing once after I sold something thru eBay for around $550, the used paypal account was hijacked by my buyer.
I emailed PayPal thats it's the account owner's own responsibility to protect his account, not mine, so there should be no reason to put MY money on hold. I was just the seller of the item.

I got my money back within 48hrs!

just try it, maybe it works.

I agree with evertonian. You've just learned a very valuable lesson. Never do currency exchanges like this online.. especially using PayPal.

Be thankful it only cost you $15.

You can add a credit card and become a verified member.
That will save you some hassles.
Utility bill-electricity, phone bills etc will confirm your address for verification

Paypal wrote me back that they want a CREDIT CARD Statement, so as to confirm my address....
I just wanted to know, as you all those there are VIRTUAL CREDIT CARDS out there (VCC) sold at only $5 each specially for activatin paypal , adwords etc...
Do these VIRTUAL CARDS have statements ???
Pls reply at ur earliest possible !

I'm so sorry to say, but maybe you should forget your account.
Paypal made my account limited, I did all they wanted, from bank account to utility bill!
And my account is still limited!
I hate them, as I had some money in my account and I cannot do anything with it.
I sent several emails, complaints, etc. ! no one is listening there!
I just get replies that their support team copy paste their KB about limited accounts!
So, forget paypal! lets go to find a better system.
Google checkout is the best I found and joined, but they don't provide online money and the money goes straight to the bank account.
I googled my problem with paypal, and found thousands of the same experiences!
Anyone knows a better alternative to paypal other than moneybookers?

I think just now, after paypal there is MONEYBOOKERS and EGold....
Also I heard about Plimus .com, that they accept money from any account whether paypal or egold.....but I dont know what exactly do they provide....

If you have a credit card then you can add it to your paypal and also send them the statement & other details as they requested. If not you need to forget your account.

cskanna, I added credit card, bank account, address, verified phone number, provided bill, changed pass, changed security questions, etc. ! everything they wanted! and now! my account is not active! so, I hate them.
smak786110, I'm now going to use Google Checkout and Moneybookers. Both of them are great, and as I see people nowadays are going to find paypal alternatives, so moneybookers will get popular! Why we should use paypal while there are better companies doing better?
