Paypal and ebay always start the email with your username.

Always mouse over the dispute transaction or cancel transaction. You will most likely see a strange URL and that's the give away.

It's an old phishing scam.

Watch for banks and other email scams too.

Me too

I recently received a phishing mail stating it is from UTI Bank and I reported this matter to UTI Bank now, Axis bank. But, the bank replied me with a warning mail that i should be careful about such mails.

When you get a phishing email purporting to be from paypal, just forward it to [email protected]

True, paypal will always start an email with your username (your primary account email address) and your paypal account name (JOE SCHMOE).

I've done this many times, but it seems that nothing can be done. I have recieved the same email and more spam umpteen times. :(

A dime a dozen ... or perhaps even less a dozen. I often proceed with extreme caution when I enter my spam folder. At least they were creative and didn't try offering you a pyramid scam.
