Hey! I've got a problem here that I want you guys to help me with. It's actually nothing to do with the computer, so here's the problem:
Every so often I go to Waffle House to get my self some food. They give me the food like they're supposed to, but then, they don't give me my receipt. I ask them kindly for it, and they say, "Yes, hold on." Then, they take another receipt sheet, tear off the bottom of it where the total is, and just hand me my total! I don't know the amount of money I paid for the food, taxes, and stupid take-out fees or whatever.
The very first time I went to Waffle House, I asked to see the receipt that the woman was holding that was mine before she threw it away (I didn't know she was going to throw it away), and I looked at the calculations, and what do you know? They added an extra dollar for me. I pointed it out, and she says "Oops, got my ones carried away there, hehe." Ok, that's fine.
Next time I went: Oops! Same thing! (added extra dollar)
So now, I'm not getting my *whole* receipt, and I don't know if I'm getting ripped off or not. The very last time I went there, I just looked at the menu, added up how much everything cost me, and the total looked within reason that time (I don't think there was an extra dollar). But who knows? They could have added extra cents or something, I don't know. They probably just remembered my face and didn't want to mess with me.
By the way, all this time I've only been going to the same Waffle House, not a bunch, so there are the same people I always see.
So what I'm wondering is: Is there a law in the government that states that a company must ALWAYS give out a receipt if asked for? I'm pretty sure it's the law to give them out (the WHOLE thing). What they are doing I think is wrong, and should be stopped. Now, I don't want to jump to any wrong conclusions that they're doing this to EVERYone, but two times was enough for me.
Any suggestions?
EDIT: Oops, sorry, but I forgot to mention that when I ask them for my WHOLE receipt, they say: sorry, it's our policy not to give them out. WHAT THE HELL?? You can't give out receipts?! I must say, something's wrong here...
