Is there a way to determine which dropcatching service captured the domain?

I'm curious to see if it's possible to check which service captured a deleting domain.

For example, when I checked the WHOIS, I saw the last IP address was snapnames.com. However, I contacted Snapnames today and they told me they were unable to capture the domain name which probably means that another service was able to capture it.

How do I find out? I'm asking because I'll likely add them to my list of backorder services.

Thanks.

You can usually tell by looking at the whois. Usually just looking at the "registrar" field is all you need to do. On other occasions you can usually try visiting the "whois server" field and then tell that way.

Just Google "Domain Sherpa how to grab an expiring domain"... I think they explained most of the registrars. Interesting read.
