Is there a need to have Android phone and iPhone

Ok I already had an iPhone 3gs but when we were in a phone shop yesterday my dad let me look in them and I was showing him the samsung europa and he bought it for me(its android) so I was wondering is there much need?
Personally I think if we don't want to break Apple's EULA then there is because googles have a themes section but somewhere in it(forget exactly where) I came across a tweaks section ok so its needless to break android maybe Apple should take the same approach.But anyway back on topic is there need to have an iPhone and Android Phone I will be using both in future.

I love my iPod Touch and the App Store but when it comes to phones, I want something with a real keyboard, not a touch screen so even tho I own a SciPhone i9 clone, I actually hate using it. I miss my Kyocera K612.

To each their own, I just find touch screens annoying for dialing and texting.. I like some tactile response while typing. I have to look at a touch screen to type, something I may not have to do with a qwerty keyboard on a phone.

For some users the qwerty keypad is hard to type

I love my iPhone 4 and the TACTILE screen.
My Samsung Galaxy is also great.

No they don't. Textile is a cloth produced from a fabric, tactile is something relating to the sense of touch.

get one or both based on need. Do you need android then get one.
do you need iPhone then get one.

I have the Samsung Europa and the iPhone 3GS 16GB I am thinking of investing in an iPhone 4 after I get my macbook pro 13" 2.66GHZ with 4GB Ram and a 320GB Hard drive.

I don't see the need for both, so I don't own both. In my opinion they are toys, and I prefer my BB for actual work.

Kind of off topic, unless you are buying them mac for the OS and the dual touch, it is an immense waste of money.

I think there is a need for both if you want to your warranty to live its full lifetime.Because the iPhone doesn't offer all the functions of an android phone and vice versa.I was wondering if anyone else thinks in the same mind frame or if why they think in a different mind frame.

I came here to read about whether you need an Android and iPhone. What's a macbook got to do with anything?

If someone NEEDS both then they should get both.. otherwise it's pretty much a waste imho.
