Is newsday trademarked?

Here is the straight forward question, is the word ' newsday' trademarked?

I can't find any evidence of it being a registered trademark and I also notice that about every tld with the word newsday is already registered and parked...

Does anyone know, and if it is not trademarked, could newsday.com apply and get a trademark prohibiting everyone else in the world from using that word?

Yes, I also would not mess with them. They are owned by Tribune.

Maybe I don't understand the language of the trademarks for newsday that I read....from what I could see, the actual words newsday is not trademarked, rather ' newsday.com' is trademarked, but the trademark claim makes no mention what so ever about other tld's.

If anyone cares to clarify this, I would very much appreciate it. If it is clarified, I'd prefer an explanation as to the language that actually states the trademark for newsday exists for all tld's.
