Hello guys
I have received the following email regarding one of my domain names:

( My name is ---------------- and I am the owner of the company -------------------- . We recently had an issue with our emails from Go Daddy where we did not receive any of their notifications that our domain name was about to expire until it was already too late.
We see that you recently purchased the domain name --------------------. Since our company emails and information is already set up with that domain we would really like to continue to use it instead of having to start over entirely with a new address. I am willing to purchase for a reasonable price the domain. We would like to discuss getting our domain back, as our entire business is tied to it. Your consideration is most appreciated.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,)

So, I have asked $4,500 for it.
Do you think guys it is a reasonable price?
Thanks

I have unintentionally purchased names that I later discovered were probably a TM issue.

I happens, and I am sure it will happen to me again.

Sometimes you do just basic research on a name and buy it and later you find out it was not such a good idea.

That is how it goes sometimes.
Sure,

I have a couple of businesses and if it came down to 4500 to keep everything going I wouldn't hesitate. I like the idea of renting it, even it is only 100 a month. There are a ton of scammers out there, but a photography business can easily pay what you requested and it is a write off!

Out of all the domains I buy the easiest domains to reg are photography domains ,because they were early to the game and and after many years they let them drop. and they don't come back for them because its a real competitive business ,and unless your the best you are out of business, I find the same for real estate domains ,these people making huge commissions wont pay a few hundred for their company name ,let the guy know what comparables are going for ,of course you will pick out the highest ,then ask for for his best offer. he was open with you and don't try to milk him that much . when he comes in with a 800 to 1000 offer ,let him know you only buy domains that have over 20 end users and someone actually offered you 27 % higher than that and you rejected it ,but you may consider a little higher that that being he already owned the domain.

Most real estate agents are actually broke. The ones in the spotlight are few and far in between.

Brokerage agencies and real estate firms on the other hand do quite well.

I will be very interested to see how this pans out. Lots of interesting viewpoints on this thread and this is a situation that may come up for any domainer.

1. YOU should have NOT answered the email because they are expecting to pay couple hundreds, not thousands, or You should have asked them for an offer.

I would have replied something like "everything is for sale for the right price so feel free to make an offer?" Let them throw a number first and then say "NO" if it's just couple hundred, forget about it and wait for ANOTHER/right buyer to come to you.
