OK, I'm new to this and I looked for an answer elsewhere, but is GoDaddy any good for $ parking?

I see sedo, parked, and several others mentioned on the forum here but I know many buy, trade and have domains at GoDaddy, why not just park them there for $?

I'd had a few names and never parked them and finally I noticed that Network Solutions was advertising them (wonder why Network Solutions doesn't offer parking?). Anyway, I was paying $35 a year to renew my domains at Network Solutions and then I moved to GoDaddy. They said I could add parking for cheap so I let them do it. I wonder since I don't see them mentioned here for this service if I made a mistake or if it's that just most here don't have experience with them parking? Thanks.

I have never used GD parking option, but from what I've heard of their parking there are much better options. Sign up for a few of the other parking providers test the domains for a bit & see where they perform the best.

I used to park my one domain there. For 1 months I parked there, I got $0 with about 813 visitors. I parked at sedo and earned $19 last month.

so I think GD is not good for parking unless the visitors click in your GD ad and register some domain with your referral ad. :imho:

No, Godaddy is by far the worst I've used so far.

I paid $51 for 17 months and I get to keep 40% of the revenue I believe but can park unlimited domains. I'm hoping to at least pay my domain renewal fees but I don't if I'll be able to. I've got a lot to learn and appreciate any input. I thought this is something to do on the side, but it seems to take a full-time knowledge foundation. Not sure why anyone would try to flip a name if it pays for itself and is bringing in income.

I tried it for a month on a promo they ran for 9 dollars you kept 80 percent. 80 percent was still half what I make elsewhere, I find it hard to beleive they get paid so little by google with such a big inventory of names.

Godaddy is as good as useless for parking my friend, if you are going to pay for parking you may as well use WhyPark.com, at least you get to use adsense and keep all the revenue.

Heres one of mine, http://www.nichetips.com/

If you want free parking try parked first, then try the others like namedrive, fabulous and sedo (if you are going to sell your domains).

You sound as if Godaddy is doing you a favor allowing you to park as many domains as you wish.

Every parking co. allows you to park as many as you wish b/c they make more money.

Also, 40% split sucks........I get 89% at Parked.com. You may not get that much at Parked.com since, I assume, you have a small amount of traffic from your domains, but I bet they give you at least 70%. You also get paid twice a month with them.

Also, GD is the only one that charges you to park domains.

Lastly, GD was going to make a "HUGE" announcement at the last TRAFFIC auction about them making a new, big splash in the parking industry.....they canceled it b/c their developers realized that the platform was still full of bugs and other problems and it was not ready. My rep told me they wanted to wait until they could get it done right.

So.......that makes you their guinea pig since they are still experimenting, and to add insult to that you have to pay them to be that pig. They should be paying you....not the other way around. Hell, you are doing them a damn favor.

Leave them! Go apply at Parked.com or Fabulous.com or anywhere else. You are being taken advantage of. :|

First, let me thank everyone so being so helpful and cool about my post. All comments were good.

I've only got 10 domains now, but I thought they were above average. I took Seabass' good advice and applied at Parked, but they turned me down. I guess my names weren't as good as I thought, I don't know, I didn't get a reason. Just when I try to log in, it says my account was not approved. Anyway, I bought 4 more names yesterday and will be buying more as I can.

Where should I go now? Fabulous? Somebody else? Any advice is appreciated.

Don't give up on Parked.....from what you say it may be that the account just has not been approved yet. Go to the "Parking & Traffic Monetization" forum, the third link down on the front page of NamePros and find the thread about Parked.com and then find Donny in that thread and send him a PM. Make your case as to why your domains are good. Show the new ones too. Just don't apply with trademark domains or offensive domains and you might just get in.

Fabulous....you can try them, but they like U.S. centric domains that are totally generic in nature. Domains like BedPillows, com or CatMedicine, com, etc......

If both of those don't work then try Sedo, NameDrive, or TrafficZ. After you build up your portfolio you can try at Parked or Fabulous again to see what happens.

Also, if you're applying to Parked, make sure you don't use a free email service like gmail, hotmail, yahoo or so on.

With good people like Seabass and Netmeg (and maybe even Donny got in there) I just got my rejection at Parked changed to an accept. Thank you all or I would have given up and not tried for another answer.

Glad you got in! Parked is the best.

Awesome!

Now go buy a bunch of generic, non-trademark domains. If you really want some cheap .....wait another six months to a year before you start a major spending spree.....IMHO.
