Is a normal scanner dangerous for your eyes?

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could help me with a question I had from some time regarding if the normal computer scanner you get at the computer store is dangerous for the eyes.

I mean, if you push the "OK" button to scan the document when the lid is not totally close or still open, and you get that light, is it dangerous like the check-out red light scanners at the supermarket?

Cheers

I really doubt it is. I mean it's not a laser or anything.

Thanks, well that`s what I wanted to know....if it is a laser or not.

Because, a couple a years ago, I attended a course in retail where they explained us how to use FT/POS and check-out operations including of course the price scanners and they warned us to never point it to the eyes.

Bluetooth and IR are dangerous for our eyes... but we all use it. The scanner light is also dangerous... but you won't get blind after looking at it. If you don't have to look at it, don't. If you do... no biggie.

Bluetooth like what??

And what`s IR ?

Thanks

No a scanner, but I found this news on the similar topic:

The one I use is actually an ALL IN ONE: HP Printer, Fax, Scanner, Copier.

I`m concerned now.

Bluetooth in general. It won't make you heavy ill or anything, but if you don't have to, don't expose yourself to it.
IR is infrared... the same as above.

Scanner lights... as I said above -- No need to be concerned about it. Just don't photocopy your face every day. ;)

My humble opinion... ;)

If you deactivate or turn off bluetooth, you'll be fine.

Damn, well there goes my idea of scanning/photocopying my face every day for 20 years and posting it on a blog.
