.info .info underrated?

I realy think .info domains are underrated, alot of them have great potential and they look like they are growing in popularity. The extension may be bulky but alot of money can be made off of information.

.info extension is indeed underrated as compared to other TLDs. I think .info name is easy to use and universally recognized. The good thing about it is there are still a lot of good names available as compared to .com and .net names which most of the good names are already registered.

The good thing is that there are still a lot of average .infos available, whereas most of the bad .coms and .nets are taken.

I just wish people would quit saying that it (or any other extension) will someday surpass .com, because maybe then we could prevent some of the needless backlash from the .com worshippers.

Nobody is saying that .INFO will surpass .com as the "default" extension :sold: , just that .INFO has its own unique place and value as an address, and when you apply the address in its 'best use, best fit', it can be even better than if you had chosen .COM.

It wasn't really in reference to this thread, as much as it was just in general. It seems the com worshippers always use such statements against those of us who support the alternative extensions, and I just hate to give them ammunition. It was also tongue in cheek but I forgot to add the smiley at the end.

I realize that .com will probely never be passed im just trying to say that the domain is alittle underrated compared to other domains.

I forsee .info surpassing or equalling .net in usefullness in the future. I think it's pretty close already.

Results 1 - 10 of about 21,000,000 for site:.info

Results 1 - 10 of about 67,400,000 for site:.us

Results 1 - 10 of about 283,000,000 for site:.net.

Results 1 - 10 of about 4,980,000,000 for site:.com

So there are 3 times as many developed .us site links, 11X+ more developed .net site links and around 238 times more .com developed site links then .info.

Do the math?

Sure there are good .info sites.... but predicting that .info will topple .net is just plain absurd

Well that's your own perspective. It actually depends on how you look at it. I feel that because .info names are underrated, there are still good names available whereas in case of .com and .net, most of the good names are already registered.

When I typed that I was thinking about domains that you can get for reg fee; I think that .info has passed the point where there a lots of good names lying around unclaimed (though of course there are a few). I'd certainly agree, however, that if you're buying second-hand domains, you're more likely to find a .info "available" for a reasonable price than a .com or even a .net.
