Inflating OVT results

Would it be possible to run the same search multiple times in order to inflate overture results, or are there precautions against this?

I believe there must be, because some months I see high searches for really, really, REALLY obscure terms.

Yes I think it happens, that is why you need to do research on top of the OVT results.

Exactly, Overture results are simply for the advertisers, our use is an extra feature

Overture numbers are very easily manipulated, which is why they should never be relied on! All you need to do is search for your domain name at a participating search engine and hit refresh as many times as you want to affect next month's numbers accordingly.

Be very skeptical if anyone is selling a name solely based on OVT numbers and cannot backup why it would get those numbers.
