For Indians: DND. To avoid unwanted telemarketing calls or SMS, Do Not Disturb is facility given by all telecom companies in India. It is mandatory and if you still get any calls it is punishable offence in India. Apply for it. Feel Relaxed and concentrate on Domaining. 
Rest of the world: Remove one digit from your phone number. It is possible and in Whois you will see 9 digit number. No calls. No SMS. Feel Relaxed and concentrate on Domaining. That is what I do.
