I'm sick of Moniker support delays.

Every time I post a support ticket I'm lucky if it gets a reply in a timely fashion, never mind a resolution.

I have a current ticket I opened on the 2nd April, still no response almost a week later. It's a simple request to retag some .co.uk domains.

I know they have a toll free number to call, but that is no good for international customers. The support system seems like it is not monitered, or checked once per week at best.

I have had hundreds of domains with moniker but am gradually moving them all out for this sole reason. Support is f u c k ing useless.

Security is good, but support should equal that. I feel like they just don't give a shit. They have lost a good customer.

i still dont understand what everyone's beef with godaddy is. "registrar aside, they offer crappy products." ok, i can understand that.

but how can anyone here challenge the belief that i have that they are the most relatively secure registrar on the net? i think a lot of domainers criticisize them bc they are trying to save pennies on renewals which adds up to a lot of money on hundreds of domains.

i dont think i'm ever going to own more than 10 domains. i wouldn't hold my domains elsewhere.

Why should I?

They should moniter tickets opened.

slowdaddy are not any better.

My registrar of choice is now fabulous for my .coms
Great prices, great support which is almost immediate, and security is just as good as anywhere else. Moniker have dropped the ball and can take a running jump as far as I'm concerned. Too many fingers in too many pies, and not enough meat in any of them.

It seems like customer service is down all around. Dynadot used to provide me with service I was damn proud of. Now, I'm considering getting every domain I have with them out of there.

Seriously, customer service is something that's important to 'domainers'. With so many more domains than the average holder, you want your e-mails answered in less than 72 freakin' hours, and you'd expect an internet company to make sure to answer them under 24.

Well said Fka200,

an internet company SHOULD be on the ball, and answered within 4 hours in my opinion. Resolved within 12 hours is not an unreasonable expectation. Even Enom have performed better with my retag request. I am retagging all my .co.uk domains and enom had it done within 12 hours. I've never been a fan of enom support either, but they beat moniker. Sometimes enom have taken 48 hours to get to my ticket, but they have always explained why.

Moniker are a spent force, and have lost the focus of being "the secure" registrar for domainers. Oversee have overseen the demise of moniker as the domainers choice :) I expect to see a mass influx to fabulous over the next year or two. I'm sure we will also get the plebs coming to this thread and defending moniker, but there really is no defence against a ticket almost a week old unanswered. I'd love to hear a VALID excuse, but I'm guessing there is none.

Moniker's support sucks ass!!!!!!

They can't resolve shit. I just had a problem with them this week. And I told them to forget about it because I already registered my domains with GoDaddy. And then this morning they replied back with an attitude and some BS excuse...

GoDaddy's support is much better. So far I haven't had any issues with them. But they are slow when it comes to other stuff like changing the name servers and just updating period.

Where have you contemplated on moving away your portfolio from Moniker?? There are a lot of issues with their support.....

Gladly, I've never faced any support issues with ResellerClub.com or Answerable.com, for that matter....after all, support is one of the major parameters one has to look at...

I have accounts with all the major players, including an ETP account with Enom, but I will be moving all my .com portfolio to fabulous as and when they come up for renewal.

That's easy if you aren't blind. Secure? Hardly. They have domains frequently stolen and very often people don't get them back or have to spend hours in calls doing so. And GD disable domains for little cause. Last year they gave up legitimate domains to the State of Kentucky for illigitimate reasons.

http://www.thedomains.com/2008/09/24/godaddy-caves-into-kentucky/

After some outcry GD released a statement saying they only placed the domains in a special status (BS still).

If you have any notice on your account from a 3rd party GD will charge you legal fees of about $30. Mind you it doesn't matter if the notice GD was sent on toilet paper with a stamp on it written by a cat. GD is gonna charge you.

Want real hard evidence the GD sucks... http://www.godaddysucks.com

Any Google search for "godaddy sucks" (yes quoted) will pull up about 5,000 results.

If you have a handful of domains Godaddy is probably fine. If you have a large portfolio including valuable domains worth lots of money then GD is the wrong choice.

Moniker however has totally fallen off the customer support top list. They really suck if you need to open a trouble ticket. They used to answer within hours..now it's days. But hey...I rarely need to use tickets anyways and as long as my domains aren't stolen, disabled, and I can manage them in the control panel I have no complaints. I still think their site itself is one of the best.

I actually have almost all my names at Godaddy, this makes me think to transfer some valuable ones to Moniker. Thanks for the info Jesse, rep added.

this reminds me of everything that's wrong about domainers. there's lots of companies that suck aren't there? godaddy sucks, google sucks, yahoo sucks, lunar sucks, plenty of mud and plenty of targets. plenty of people to blame!

my open challenge to any domainer that says "this (company) sucks" is to make a productive statement and tell who you think is a better company for that field

so once again. if godaddy sucks, then who doesn't suck?

Namecheap imho doesn't suck. I rarely hear negative comments about them. I use them frequently too. Pushes are fast, interface is clean, prices are reasonable, and support has been good.

Moniker imho is the most secure but as this thread points out...they are now lacking in support. Whereas Godaddy might seemingly offer great support they lack in so many other areas such as interface, legalities, and security.

Yes, I started transferring my domains out of Moniker months ago as their support is absolutely terrible. GoDaddy is not an option as I've had several domains stolen from my account there. IMO Fabulous is the best registrar by far as they are secure as houses and offer a great backend management system. However I also use Dynadot for some registrations, they are just as cheap as Fabulous and I haven't had any problems security wise but I don't like their control panel for managing domains (pusing bulk domains is especially tedious).
