So I decided to make this website where I simply think up of domain names worth at least $750 or so to the end-user, and then just post them online for free. Then, I put an advertisement on the site to collect a tiny amount of income. What do you guys think? I post new domain names daily.

The site name is:

www (dot) domainideasfree (dot) com

Anyone think this is a good idea?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I subscribed to this type of site before. I think it was FreshAvails.com

It was on "honesty basis". If I reg a name, I contact the site owner and pay $2 for finder's fee.

It was profitable for both sides.

"at the time of posting and they cost around $30 for yourself to register. "
Where on earth are you registering domains that a .com would cost as much as $30 per reg?

.COM's are normally like $10. I'd recommend looking at Uniregistry, NameBright, NameSilo, etc. You're overpaying wherever you're at.

The problem is that people don't want to donate.

I'd be careful with adult names as well, you could find that your site is getting blocked as a result.

no i think youre misunderstanding my post

i am literally thinking of original and unclaimed, solid domains that are definitely worth something, and im giving them to you for free. all of the ones i post and list can be registered for the basic $20 fee or whatever that godaddy charges

i just listed jubilee777 (dot) com and jubliee888 (dot) com on my website

LITERALLY NOBODY OWNS THEM RIGHT NOW. I AM THE ONE DONATING TO YOU

I understand that, but when I looked you had a porn name on the page.

I don't think you would get any donations, but you could get revenue from registrar and hosting banners if you can get the traffic to the site.

i am pretty confused by what you mean

im not asking for donations from anyone. im the one donating to YOU

Do you have any credentials in the industry that would make people want to take your suggestions?

I don't personally see any value in the two names you suggested above.

who cares about credentials if the name is good

you may not see value in them, but they are still free and catchy sounding. i dont know of anyone else in the world willing to do this

ok i see what you mean

now a lot of those lists truly have some worthless domain names. i saw one list that had a couple i thought were decent. i guess what differentiates mine from theirs is that i put more thought. areaselect? nuggist? i could sh*t a better list tbh

Ah, but that's the beauty of domaining, and naming in general. It's subjective. When I started a year and a half ago, I was full of brilliant ideas for names that had never been registered. It turned out there was a reason they were never registered...

The key is not to find great sounding names, but to find names that will have real value for real businesses right now. Otherwise you're spending money every year waiting for someone else to discover your creative names, and love them enough to give you a 50x ROI.

Please send me a conversation message. I would like to ask for more of your opinions on a couple things

That's actually a pretty cool idea I think. I'm not sure you're going to get a lot of people donating but if you get enough traffic you might be able to make some money from ads. I myself would probably check your site every now and then if I find you often come up with decent names. Hell, I'd even come back and donate if I sell one of your names :xf.grin:
There are many sites that provide automated name suggestions but I haven't found one with a solid enough algorithm, having a human think up names is better but more time consuming. I think your idea has got potential. Good luck :)
