It will be interesting to see if .im holders get typo traffic for the names. When typing ".com" if some misses the "c" and hits the "i" which is right next to the "o" then they will go to the .im I know I often type .cim instead of .com, not sure about .im though... maybe a big stretch.

An ovt search on "yahoo.im" = 65.

Of course yahoo gets TONS of traffic so not surprising it has had the typo 65 times in OVT.

Just thinking out loud :)

Probably because people want to see if they can get to Yahoo through the new extension. I wouldn't say that '.im' is a typo for '.com'

Yahoo.im is probably from people who are looking for yahoo messenger.

Theres no way .im is typo for .com.

Do think people already thought .im as meaning instant messaging? That would be good news for .im if that is the case.

I think you no likely to get .im type when .com was meant. However, it is hugely possbible to get .in traffic, since botha re tw letters, M and N are not only next to each other on the keyboard, but use the same typing finger. Find a high traffic .in and you might pick up some mistypers.

.im cannot be considered a typo for .com. The 65 typo results in overture for yahoo.im is not a big deal as yahoo gets tons of traffic anyway. An ordinary .im may not get as many results.

Unfortunately I must agree. I think it was a mistake that I spent $84 on a .im domain...

For a normal user, it is hardly to mistype a 3 letter extensions to a 2 letter extensions with multiple typos...
imho, .cm will be good a typo for .com; or .om
but people hardly type in multiple errors within such a short chunk of phrase.

unfortunately, I think its more likely to be the other way round - when typing the .IM domains I own, I've occasionally typed in .com through force of habit.

wireless.com, I wish!!!!
