As of now iGen.com is at 100,000 with about an hour to go. It is a very nice VCVC - "The Internet Generation." I actually really wanted to develop it. It was at $2100 earlier today and I thought I would definitely be getting it for $6k! Oh well, it's good for the industry as a whole.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

And now it has already reached $100,000 again... With the same two top bidders, if I remember correctly. What a joke.

They STOLE your money, arnie...?!?

.

basically yes, although after contacting netsol they said dont worry you will get it.
i am wary to do a chargeback as canty even see what card was used as they closed account for some unknown reason. never bid on any names , i won one outrught. my card paid. i could handle a glitch, but when opening another account their support dont even get back then. they are scum

i will soon, when i have time not dealing with other stuff, chase them down again and make an official complaint

i would advise people not to use netsol or namejet, they are scam artists with zero support.
you will hit problems. you';ve been warned

did people take screenshots of the first one?
make sure you take them of this one. if we decide to make official complaints about these pricks , these may help

That's ridiculous. Surely they would have banned/at least warned the bidders who vastly over-bid before?

believe it not i just signed up to NJ last week. I realy want to see how these characters work their auctions first hand.

I am starting to see names sell for much less that in previous months, yet the suspect bidding still continues.

I believe these NJ cronies are now being exposed for what they are. Arnie just makes me even more sure im right.

I believe the only way we can stop people bidding up a domain is getting them to put there money where there mouth is.

I believe that you could set up an escrow style system where if you are bidding on a premium domain you must transfer the funds to cover your bid.

If you win then the funds come out of the escrow account when the domain is transferred and if you lose the funds are returned.

I think all serious domainers and bidders would use this as long as the companies i.e. Snapnames / Namejet etc didnt benefit from interest of funds in holding accounts etc.

Just my thoughts on how I would tackle it.

Regards,

Robbie

I think it's clear that all aftermarket businesses can put in a format that CAN work, BUT each system blocks somebody in some way. That somebody "could" be a real buyer.

I think I made up a system that would work and I just wrote about it on my blog. I think the Real Bidders will enjoy the Reward system and is fair for a One Time bidder or an every day user.

You can read it if you wish here. (my blog)

There is just too much greed with many auction houses. Anything over 10% commission is ridiculous IMO. Charging 20% is a joke. Manipulating auctions also is sheer greed.

I have my own ideas on what would be a success, it would not surprise me if a big player came into the domain auction/selling market and shook things up.

Looking back at the auction, it is back up at 100,000. Something tells me the current leader is serious. Last auction, he also bid 100,000 and lost by $100. I don't know what to say about the other dude bidding up with him though *Seems like a shiller"

Was the other bidder in the original auction?

Notice the similarity in bidding alias:

Edwardh2g vs. lauritah2g

Now I can tell you what h2o stands for but h2g... not a bloody clue. Either way seems fishy and the two bidders are no doubt affiliated with each other. When a bidder does not pay, NJ bans them from that specific auction.

By the way I have a feeling jcg is affiliated with jcg,com which in that case makes sense.

The reason Iwas able to do that is because I opted to join the private auction when you were able to do so. I don't think your able do see much if you didn't join the auction to begin with.

The name did eventually change hands if you look at the Whois. Strange thing is the email has the term Edwardh2g. He was the second place winner for 99,000. Looks like namejet had some sense knocked into them and just awarded the second place winner with the domain.

I thought i read on another board that this domain ended up being auctioned yet again and went for 3700.

Apparently it was 7300. Just search for igen.com on dnf.

So the h2g people just kept winning and not paying until people lost track of it and they won it cheap? Pretty messed up.

DNJ reports a higher sale.
