As of now iGen.com is at 100,000 with about an hour to go. It is a very nice VCVC - "The Internet Generation." I actually really wanted to develop it. It was at $2100 earlier today and I thought I would definitely be getting it for $6k! Oh well, it's good for the industry as a whole.

Well, that is certainly end user pricing. When an end user targets a domain reseller pricing is irrelevant.

Nice old 1995 one, very brandable if its not a brand already ?

would be nice for a green technology company or product too.

its unreal how much namejet etc make, a scandal really.

however the sale (if it happens) will be good for domain industry and reported sales like u say

dont tell old owner who dropped it, they'll hang themselves :sold:

He might get around 10% of that because it was a NetSol name...I don't suppose they put much effort into finding the guy though !

It is ridiculous how much money NameJet makes without really doing anything, I agree.

They should open the auctions up to premium non expired domains. That is where all the best buyers are. I quit using NJ since it is virtually impossible to find a deal anymore.

if icann enforced the rules. they couldnt do it at all. it would be down to individual dropcatchers/specialists/pros

maybe we should pool our resources, us domainers and get a superserver and a script to end all scripts? :sold:

Over 85,000,000 Google results for iGen, must admit ive never heard of it. It's a fantastic result for a llll.com, but im not convinced all is above board at NJ.

Again and again their prices are way higher than anywhere else. It makes no sense.

Nice sale, proves the LLLL.com market is strong.

Half of the auctions are never paid for. NJ needs to clean up their system.

I think it's important to note, the bidding was from 2 bidders from about $3K on up...

They need to regulate these auctions, instead of ignoring them.

iGen.com is getting nice price.

Anyone think that namejet may have secret bidders who inflate the price by bidding and winning if they don't get the price they want. I think the auction side of things on dropped names is wrong, a fixed fee for catching the name for you is fine!

The domain was originally registered in 1995. An archive.org search reveals that Igen International was a previous owner. Apparently they are a biodefence company that later got bought about by another biotech company. The probably just abandoned the name.
