As of now iGen.com is at 100,000 with about an hour to go. It is a very nice VCVC - "The Internet Generation." I actually really wanted to develop it. It was at $2100 earlier today and I thought I would definitely be getting it for $6k! Oh well, it's good for the industry as a whole.

I highly doubt it, they just had two large sales fall through within the last few weeks, Vida.com and Lets.com. I really thought they did more buyer checking when bids got this high. Sedo makes you go through stages to buy at certain levels.

I wouldn't pay that much simply because of possible TM problems. This one could have legal troubles down the road.

Is there some where in the forum you find these domains or ? :santa:

Yes, I am highly suspicious NJ could be using this practice. Many of the sale prices make little sense.

Anyone think that namejet may have secret bidders who inflate the price by bidding and winning if they don't get the price they want. I think the auction side of things on dropped names is wrong, a fixed fee for catching the name for you is fine!

i agree. i would love them to be investigated, along with snapnames etc
things look too fishy a little too often

yes, its their pay $10 to reopen your account after not paying for a domain you bid on.

Note to all the people that report domain names SOLD when auctions end (not op) just in general. Pizza.com etc....

This is an example not to report Sold until money changes hands and the domain is transfered to a new owner. :D

What a joke. It takes two to get it to that price though, so either this was planned or someone else really wanted it as well. I wouldn't doubt what happened is that the guy who won thought the other party would keep bidding up and when they ended up with the domain, they shat themselves. Either that or namejet shill bids. Who knows.

I really wish there was more transparency at NameJet. It would be nice to at least see the home country of the bidders and what time they registered like at Sedo.

It won't hapen though cuz NJ likes that way.

Many of the really high sales reported to the DNJournal seem fishy to me. A vast majority of the large sales are by aftermarket resellers (i.e. Sedo, NameJet, Afternic, Moniker, etc) that cater to domainers. Why would a domainer pay $11,000 for a domain like OnGames.com and why would an end-user be registered with Afternic?

This phenomenon has never made sense to me and causes me to wonder (just like one of the posters above) if there is some collusion going with/between aftermarket resellers. Domainers always seem to get the shaft as the aftermarket resellers, parking companies, registrars, and publisher networks continue to flourish. When will they realize that they are killing the hands that feed them?

Oh wow, what a shocker. Another ridiculous sale that isn't paid for on NJ. This is exactly why I never use them.

I will pass on getting into bidding wars with shill bidders. It is pathetic that the high bidder can just pay his $10 and have his account reinstated.

It is one of two things that cause this.

1.) People winning the name at any cost to have a window of exclusive rights. If they can't sell the name for a profit they pay their $10 fee and move on.
2.) NJ is full of shill bidders. I think many people suspect this.

Namejet needs to address this ASAP. You need to be charged a % fee, not a flat fee. If you don't pay on a $69 domain that should not be the same fee as a $100K name.

i won one name at namejet. 5 months later i have no name.
thier support system didnt get back after i paid. i then found out my account was closed. beyond belief already arent we?
so i had to open another account to try to communicate. to date they have never got back, even with support tickets left on that account explaining everything. i even got another domainer in u.s to ring them.
yep. so eventually netsol themselves get back after i go thru my netsol account and say dont worry u will get the name it just getting moved from a diff. area. still not here. this just reminded me about it. months again later
i will never use namejet, namejet are cheating scum index that bitch!

we need to start an anti-namejet coalition
unfortunately many domainers will sneak in and still use them, suits them if less use. until they get cheated and shilled also.

i stopped a long time ago using them , who's with me

:bingo:
