I noticed this when reading the email from Sedo today, idnx.com
Besides the index, there is a chart halfway down with Pairwise price differences which looks like basically what people ask about a lot. If a domain sells in .com for X what is it worth in another extension. People might want this info because they might want to buy or to help price domains, which seems one of the harder things to do and everybody has their own method.
Even last year when I caught the bug for this and started my own spreadsheet. After I got a good sample up, I noticed that for one extension, 75% of the time, the sales were in the range of .75% - 4% of the .com selling price.
It's the old adage, a domain is worth whatever somebody is willing to pay for it but the index is interesting as well as the other info on the site.
