Mainly for liquid domains like chinese premium names. From an english perspective, jfmd.com and tkqs.com are both worthless from a fundamental standpoint yet both would sell for over arguably $2k. Is there an index that measures the selling prices of these domains that fit this category. Obviously repeating letters are worth more and whatever else makes these chinese premium names worth more but if we can index a general price for chips it would allow for a new type of market to open. The Short Sell..
This could only work if both parties agreed to a specific indexed price or "the going rate" for random 4l .com. I think this is a complete fad and will blow over in the next couple months so if anyone is willing to sell there "Chips" and then buy them back at a lower price when the prices inevitably fall, I am willing to be on the short side of the trade. Let's brainstorm some ideas to make this work.
The biggest problem I see is that you could make an argument that certain letters are worth more than others and this only works if we can turn the liquid domain categories into commodities where if it fits in this category, it is worth $x,xxx. Is there an index that shows the going rate of chips and if so, is anyone that is holding their chips for the long haul willing to be on the other end of a short sale?
