Sedo, the leading online marketplace for the buying and selling of domain names, announced that over 50 domain names were sold at Sedo’s Live Auction at the Domainvermarkter Forum in Hamburg, Germany. Total sales of the three-hour long auction, powered by Sedo, reached $360,400 (USD).
Of the 120 present participants, 48 bids were placed. Sedo also ran a live chat client concurrently with the auction that made it possible for an additional 30 people who were not attending the conference to bid. Noteworthy sales from the auction include ärzte.de (“doctors” in German) for $77,000, reisebüro.de and reise-büro.de (“travel agencies” in German) for $70,000, hawaii.de for $30,000, and weiber.de (“skirts” in German) for $26,000.
