I'm sorry about the rookie question,
but I cannot find this info anywhere.

I want to purchase a domain.
It is from a reseller.
It is labelled as a premium name, under their current registrar.
I want to hold onto it for a while,
and I will have to re-new it in about 6 months.
Since it is considered a premium domain, and that registrar has a high fee for renewing the name,
Can't I just transfer it into my registrar, and eliminate the premium fee?
Or will my registrar have the right to evaluate it and label it a Premium too?
Or, once it is labelled premium from anyone...
that label just sticks with it for the life of that domain?

Thank You for any of your responses,
Red Rock!

.tv?!?

Which Registrar ... is labelling it a premium domain?

I'm seeing this term, "premium", being tossed around lately ... and I think it has lost its true meaning and intent, IMHO. :red:
Just my two sense.

I saw this on godaddy.com, when you click to register a new name, if that exisiting name is listed in the auction or sales site, I was looking for offshoreprogrammers.com or something, and it said $1600.00 prem domain, just creative marketing.

If it is a .TV name then the premium tag is placed by the registry and would move with the domain. But I do not know any other extensions that do that.

the only real premium pricing is at enom.tv , they charge big yearly reg fees on premium names (they decide what's premium) have a look for the yearly fee on house or home and you better be sitting down , also to see what some people have paid as premium regs , go to ahead.tv , very interesting !!

Thx for all of the responses.
I guess I should have given more info.
I didnt know that extension and registrar specific mattered.

So, yes It is a .tv at Enom.
It has about 5 months left, and I would like to hold onto it for longer then that.
I was hoping to transfer it to GoDaddy, and possibly eliminate the premium fee.
It looks like this is the answer I WASN'T hoping to get.
LOL
But I guess that answers my question.

1 more question....
Would the exact same fee apply at whichever registrar
you bring this .tv premium to?
If it has a $1500. renewal fee at Enom, and I moved it to GoDaddy,
or Joe Blow Registrar, does that $1500. renewal price stay with that domain?
Thank You!

I'm actually still thinking about buying,

They kinda got us by the "nad's"!

dont do it when i can sell you address.tv for only $500 (also a $500 premium) renewal, i purhased exports*tv and it has normal reg fees , yet ahead.tv tells you that export.tv has a renewal of #1750 per year
