I have a good selection of car manufacturer/eco .com domains, example ford///eco.com

Recently these terms took off, and are growing month by month, so my Q is this.

Is their any TM issues with these domains or are they safe? Should I develop them or leave them parked with the registry, or should I move them to sedo?

I have a lot of time off work soon and need to know what would be the best course of action.

Thanx for any help.

Yes terms such as "Ford" are a TM you are using, I suspect if you parked them you would lose them.

I would develop them into a info site with no ads and hope they want to buy them but terms such as "Ford" "Vauxhall" "Toyota" "Saab" etc.. . . . are TM and there lawyers would love to take them from you so dont park them.

Only develop them into a non profit fact site.

Just my thoughts.

I think so, same with robfer said, if you wanna develop it, just for non profit term. I think you can sold it to them with low commission of charge. Just try to talk with them, i think there any solution about this terms.

i think ford is a noun, let me double check..

ford
โ€“noun
1.a place where a river or other body of water is shallow enough to be crossed by wading.

โ€“verb
(used with object) 2.to cross (a river, stream, etc.) at a ford.

So your pretty safe if you develop a non automobile site. :P

Well here is the other dilemma I have. If they are tm'd then developing and making a non profit site, would seem a waste in the hope I got an offer for them. I'm not really in to the side stepping issue, I bought them as a newbie domainer, and they are tm'd, should I just offer the domains to them? My thinking is that these companies are promoting their cars this way, and as I have a huge selection of non tm'd eco car domains, just giving them these domains, may in the longrun, increase the value of my non tm ones.

That doesnt matter, if he parked the name, I assure you it wont have ads of "shallow bodies of water" on it, it will have car ads on it

I would steer clear of names like these, its really not worth it

good luck

Either have static page displaying domain name for sale with no ads
or just redirect the domain name to point to one of your non tm eco related domains.

Well I am not comfortable with building a site with no ads revenue, or by setting the forwarding to my other site's. I think i'll offer the domains to them. How do I go about doing this?

The best bet is developing it a little and waiting for them to contact you. They will most likely not respond to an unsolicited offer from you.

Asking Ford if they want to buy ford///eco.com? I wouldnt even try that

Yeah, offering to sell someone's trademark to them is considered "Bad Faith". That is something you do not want to do...! Messing around with a company as big as an auto manufaturer is like playing with fire.

My advice is to either develop them into nice sites that help advertise their cars and have ads, or park the domains. Either way hope you get enough to pay back the reg fee before they expire or the trademark-holder takes them from you. :)

I would not renew them and I would not sell them unless you make sure the buyer knows they are trademarked domains.
