Hi all,

I am following some tutorials on creating 3D text in Photoshop. The problem I am having is that I am using version 9 (cs2) and the instructions using the shortcut keys don't seem to work.

Most of the tutorials seem simple enough. Create the text, transform the perspective etc...

The trouble is all the tutorials tell you to hold CTRL ALT & press the up arrow, as this is supposed to create a new layer, and move it up 1 pixel.

For some reason, I can not get this to work in version 9. Can anyone offer advice?

Thanks.

Select the layer and choose Layer/Duplicate layer.
After that select the new layer and use the up arrow to nudge it.

Thanks.

I had kinda figured how to do it the long way around. Perhaps I could set up my own shortcut key for it?

CTRL + SHIFT + N for a new layer.
Layer -> Duplicate Layer
or Right Click the layer -> Duplicate

I think using the hotkeys for the photoshop is faster. just my opinion

Just create a new layer and then hit the up arrow while selecting it, it will move it up 1px.

Yes, all four of the arrow keys will "nudge" the selected layer's components 1px in either direction specified.
