I have a very specific niche

And I dont know where to advertise at all. As far as I know, there are NO other sites in this niche.
It is a forum for teen Satanists - there are teen sites, and Satanist sites, but I have never seen a site specifically for teen Satanists.

I am co-founding it with 1 (possibly 2, if she replies) people.

you should probably try to advertise on teen websites like myspace and other social networking / blog-type websites. there should at least be a handful of people who would be interested and visit your site, and eventually join. the fact that there are no other websites like this around could be a plus in the future.

Well, people seem to be arriving, so whatever the other admin is doing seems to be working (1 post in a yahoo group I think).

I think the lack of competition is why people are arriving so fast, its a plus now as well

Well, my forum is much more active than I expected, over 300 posts in the first week
It's being advertised on various yahoo groups, and myspace groups, by the members, and of course, by word of mouth. Any other suggestions for advertising places anyone?

I would say adbrite.com because you can buy weekly and monthly ad spots on any site you pick. And most of the time for nice small niche like yours this would work good. You can pm me for some other ideas if you wish.
