I wasn't quite sure where to post this, so apologies if it's in the wrong place.
I run an arcade, www.yarrt.com, and it has a proxy on it. Since adding the proxy, 80% of all hits are people using it. I would prefer people to use the actual arcade, so I blocked myspace, bebo, facebook and youtube from it, however in the past few days the number of proxy hits has gone up by, literally, thousands.
My question is, do I either make the proxy more prominent - such as putting it on the index page, rather than in a subfolder, or, do I try to find some way to encourage people to use the arcade and discourage the proxy?
The reason i'm not too keen on thousands of hits on the proxy a day is because my host suspended my account due to huge bandwidth use last year - that was before I stopped hotlinking through the proxy though.
