I give up!! I have tried for 3 hours to create a mobi site . It was just a simple project go through godaddy (easy right!!!) put a couple ads on it (easy right!!!) NOT for me!! This is my first time trying to create a site and I really wanted to but I am not the type of person who can just read about it and do it . I need step by step instuctions or someone to show me. I am really trying to do this because everyone is saying how important it is to develop. Any way sorry about the rant .

Hi,

take it easy. :)

I personally feel that it is better to learn the html and css basics...
after that, you dont need all these "site creation tools", except your good old notepad.
(So sorry if I OT'ed)

Yes, I know.
I have that problem too.

That's why I always prefer video tutorials, than text.
(Sorry, I have never used the GD's tools before)

upload it to your server and then type in your address: yoursite.mobi

after that you will want to edit the text and picture, fairly simple really but if you have trouble let us know I am sure you will get help

Upload it to your server means to FTP the files to your hosting account. GoDaddy should have sent you an email with all the necessary info.

XHTML is easy. Try this site w3schools.com .

Let me help you here. If you don't know what "upload it to your server" means then you need LOTS OF HELP and you should not be taking develpment lightly. I know how to develop sites but it comes from 10 years experience. You don't need 10 years but you need to learn a lot. I would take a few days of reading to get started, here is a good place to start: http://www.google.com/search?num=10...t=result&cd=1&q=how+to+make+a+website&spell=1
You should do much reading and learn the basics, google is good for this, look up "how to ftp" I am sure you will find easy tutorials, video tutorials and step by step help.

Here is some helpful documentation for you:

XHTML-MP Style Guide:
http://developer.openwave.com/dvl/s...and_references/xhtml-mp_style_guide/index.htm

XHTML_MP and CSS Reference:
http://developer.openwave.com/documentation/xhtml_mp_css_reference_70/index.html

XHTML-MP Tutorials:
Developer's Home - http://www.developershome.com/wap/xhtmlmp/ (Very good tutorial for beginners)
XML.com - http://www.xml.com/pub/a/2004/04/14/mobile.html
Openwave - http://developer.openwave.com/dvl/s...uides_and_references/xhtml_tutorial/index.htm

It's also worth noting that version 1.1 of XHTML-MP is now available. This allows for the use of <script> tags.

Hope this helps!

Hello TexasPlaya,
I have used godaddys mobi page builder to build quite a few pages and maybe I can help if your still interested.

If your not sure about ftp, uploading, etc.,then this might still be a way for you to go, atleast until you have the time required to learn and understand what everyone is talking about before giving up on your Dream/Goal.

Their site builder is actually really easy after you get the first couple of pages out of the way, and if you'd like, pm me on where your stuck at, and maybe I can help you get past this.
As always, no matter what your doing, the first time you do it is always the hardest and only gets easier after that.

The main thing is not to get discouraged and no matter what, DON'T let anybody steal your Dream. Persistence will always prevail if you want it bad enough.

I should note however, you mentioned you have 50 credits? You should be aware that these 50 free credits can only be used one at a time to basically build 50 different sites and cannot be combined to make 1 site with 50 pages. If your planning on building a good site with multiple pages, you might consider upgrading first.
If you just want to get the domain name live and start creating links, traffic etc., for the time being, then of course you can go this route without putting any more money into your project.

The Main Thing Is: Don't Give Up!
pm me on where your stuck at, and maybe I can help you get past this point.
