Well, I am still licking my wounds from the other appraisal thread. ;)

I did some checking and found that these 2 words were gone in any extension that counts.

Social.com is in the auction prcess right now, so I figured I may enjoy some of the wake from that liner. (No, I don't think Social.pro is in the same league. Some of you know ho idiotic I am sometimes, but that isn't the case here.)

Profile has some nice ovt and yahoo/google results. Profiles are how people express themselves in todays social online structure. They are constantly customizing and that's where I think the pro extension shines. (For both of these names.)

.Pro could even be used for "promotion" - I don't know.

So please give me your appraisals on the following names. And if you have other thoughts to add, I love info.

Social.pro
Profile.pro

Thanks

<wince>

Although, there have been some decent .pro sales in the last week, I do want to point out that the only recorded sales I am able to track (namebio.com) are professions or industries or even verbs.

I also believe .pro was intended to specifically mean professional. So im not sure about your thought that pro could = promotion.

Im really caught on this TLD, I do believe it has potential, but im nervous at the exceptionally high registration costs, I know that will without a doubt hurt potential sales and growth of this TLD.

Im going to reserver judgement on these, but I think you may have gone out on a stretch.... But, if you prove me wrong, I may just be registering the .pro that I have an eye on.

Only thing that comes to mind is social.pro being a site that has social site design tips etc...

I read it some place on one of the .pro registrar that there is no restriction of extension usage, but, I could be wrong :)

Perhaps .pro started with restriction, then, realized it's not working out as planned. So, removed restriction?
