Ok, it's been a WHILE now, but I still can't forget it and move on with my life. A couple of months ago, I was about to register "GeekForums.net" but I just happened to lose my internet connection. GeekForums.net was available, and I doublechecked. The next day, I went to my school to register it, since my internet at home wasn't working at the moment. The worst thing I could imagine happened. GeekForums.net was not available! I was so disappointed, and I still can't forget about it. Was it a real loss for me, or am I just overreacting?

Ever watch sports? After a hard fought game your team loses. Is it a real loss??? Sure feels like it, but it is electrons on the TV screen.

I got out bid on ebay last week. I tried to re-bid but my cursor was moving when I hit the button to send. In the few seconds before I realized what had happened the auction ended. Is that a real loss???

We lose the "might have beens". But we do not lose the few dollars needed to reg and renew the domains, we do not lose the time needed to develop or sell the domain, and the thinking time devoted to it. Those resources are available for other projects.

Somebody snagged sugarfox.com out from under me last year. I got sugarsue.com instead. I'll be OK.

Not a great name, not a terrible name.

I can't see it as a loss in the long run.
Get over it, it's only a domain, don't get down on it, repeat after me, It's Only A Domain!

Well I did buy GeekForums.com for $300 on Sedo and I sold it a few weeks later for $3500. Yes, I was the owner of GeekForums.com. :) Not sure about your .net version. Probably wasn't a loss at all. The most you would have fetched would be $80 if lucky.

I would not worry for a single minute if I were you.

Just think of the guy who sold tv.com for 15k some years ago and you will get over this easily :)

What does the cf stand for? Just curious. It sounds like you have been on this board q while. I am just poking around in it at the moment. First time here. I do have quite a few domain names I've collected over the last year and 1/2.
Is there a specific link I should use to get appraisals for them?
Thanks, Sharon

Welcome to namepros Sharon. If you have some premium names I suggest going to our appraisal section here and listing one or two.
