According to what OP posted, he approached John for the domain name, so there is no person between John and the OP. The To email address matches John's email. See here:

Ok, must have missed that post ?

So he is claiming John Little himself sold him the domain name. if true that would be very easy to prove.

All the OP has to do is show the escrow transaction to Netsol and get escrow to verify it was a real transaction.

The ONLY thing I can see is someone selling it who did not have permission to but knows John OR the thief used John's email?

Further, John Little asked 49k for the domain and he countered with 15k which was admitted.

49k for Little.com?

John Little gets the money, then gets the domain back, and goes under privacy.

Who is the scammer here?

1
•••
Ok HUGE red flag here....

The email [email protected] .... may not have been John's any longer.

This is the 4th theft I have come across in the last few months where they use a "free" email provider. In this case John was using it but maybe it became available again...

Visit Pacificwest.com and see whois, that company owns a ton of decent generics and people use them for email.

Could be as easy as comparing those emails to a whois list and see what is available, you then create the same email and steal the domain.

That is why you should never use a free email at all for your domains, ever. Nor use a domain you own that you let expire.

6
•••
Also the OP when agreeing to buy should have at least compared escrow details to John's whois and even tried the number (doesn't seem to work) again a huge no no imo. Keep info current! It only helps a thief when you do not.

Escrow would know who they paid out and if not John Little, big flag!

4
•••
do y'all not see the red flags here. its a con.. how can you afford to pay 33k for a domain but can't afford a lawyer.

4
•••
On a side note just so you guys know who exactly the OP claims to have bought the name from....

John Little, rang bells for me because I have likely sold more good first name dot com then any individual I know.

Why did it ring a bell, not only did I make an offer on Little.com I did so because I first saw John owned and as far as I know still does, JOHN.com!

Also a guy who is as smart as John is not selling his last name, not for $33k lol I mean his company only sold for $220 million.

•••
do y'all not see the red flags here. its a con.. how can you afford to pay 33k for a domain but can't afford a lawyer.

well.. not that I believe OP, but he did take care to mention he spent all his savings on this domain... as if he was covering himself for all potential questions like yours hehe. which too makes for another red flag. so I guess its all red no matter where you look it.

0
•••
I already sent the proof of purchase.
But netsol said 'I would suggest that your client contact their local authorities to address the possibility of recouping their funds.'

I don't have money to hire lawyer...
You should speak to your police because this is theft. You can hire an attorney but you need to contact yor police department to get the first police report done.

After that I would contact Escrow and Icann with the case number and start the process of getting the domain transferred to you and away from netsol

0
•••
This post is getting ODD to me now. Any average person would just go directly to netsol immediately instead of post here asking for help. This is starting to sound like one of those Nigerian scams via email (maybe) beware NP!

you racist.

0
•••
I think, best thing going forward is, "Domain transfer" for high value purchase. This ensure the current owner own atleast for 2 month and moving away ensure you control the domain and no one claim it as stolen without a proper court order. Domain push is risky and not worth taking risk on high net worth domains

1
•••
Another option is 15 days funds hold by Escrow..so if domain is stolen, whatever, it will be know within next 15 days after domain push/transfer..I see only this as secure option which escrow can implement, at least for $10k+ domains.

0
•••
Another option is 15 days funds hold by Escrow.

If it stolen by 20th day, what will you do? again, holding funds at 20 days in escrow !!

Domain didn't moved to ename or other sh*tty registrars that don't care about stolen domains... It's easy to close the issue because domain is still at ns..

I had the same doubt as @domainerfella posted whois and other info.

If it is stolen, theif must transferred out instead of using privacy email and keeping with same registrar.

I guess, Nice story from OP. Forgive me if it is real !!!

0
•••
How if I covered my IP and make it looks like my domain is stolen by the fake me, and the fake me sold the 'stolen' domain to someone via escrow. Once the escrow is completed, the real me starts to make a claim to the registrar regarding the stolen issue and get the domain back. At the end I get the money and still keep the domain.

I always wonder who should be responable to this situation? The stupid buyer?

Where is the OP?

Latest update:

Ok did a little digging….

I actually tired to buy this name YEARS ago from the long time owner John Little.

John continued to own the name until March 5th at least, then whois changed within Netsol to a Korean KR owner and not 7, yes SEVEN days later sold to our OP.

Red flags everywhere there but I think it is safe to say the name was stolen from John, resold in 7 days to our OP using escrow.com and Netsol has frozen and taken it back for John.

Case closed, OP learned a lesson now go to bed.

Its now on the OP to hunt the thief down and try to recover funds, escrow cannot help, John Little and Netsol cannot help. At best Netsol could give the OP an IP or something of the thief but still useless really.

OP, bad luck!

What experience did you have in domains prior to attempting to buy Little.com? Did you hear of riches in domain articles? This is the problem with newbies today, they are putting all their eggs in one basket in rolling the dice on offers to good to be true.

Just like Abdullah.com was here a few weeks ago with a $5K BIN

First thing you do is research who John Little is, he is a guy who sold his company Portal Software to Oracle in 2006 for $220M. After finding this out, I would not even waste my time approaching him because anything you offer him in monetary value will have very little meaning in him giving up his surname in .com.

There is no point getting a lawyer, as the only party they can take action against is the one who sold you the domain, even if you attempt to try to find some loophole, you think the real owner does not have means to block you every which way legally.

You need to try, and find the real person who took your money, otherwise you need to start over.

Good Luck
