Afriregister is a registrar that provides registration for African ccTLDs, but the company's conduct is extremely poor, and their attitude is very bad.
ccTLDs are not managed by ICANN, so now that I have a domain name dispute, I am unsure how to handle it.
Here’s what happened: There was a domain name, let’s use a.bc as an example. The previous holder did not renew it upon expiration, causing the domain to expire and be deleted. I registered this domain through the official registry website, which cost me $200.
Due to the high cost of registering and renewing the domain, I transferred the domain to Afriregister for management. The transfer was done via an authorization letter, not an EPP code.
Shortly after, as the domain was nearing its expiration date, I sold the domain. I needed Afriregister to assist with the domain transfer, but they kept delaying, not responding to emails or support tickets, or simply telling me to wait. After some investigation, I discovered that the previous holder of the domain had also managed it through Afriregister.
However, due to Afriregister's negligence, they failed to renew the domain, leading to its expiration and deletion. Afriregister should be held accountable for this. After I successfully re-registered the domain and transferred it to Afriregister, it gave them the opportunity to return it to the previous holder, causing me significant losses.
So, how should I report this company?
