Hurricane Ike

For those of you who believe, I think it's safe to say the folks in TX and LA could use your prayers.

I'm not sure how much you guys are following the news, but Hurricane Ike is a freak. It's massive (tropical storm force winds are apparently about 500mi in diameter) and it's going to pushing a lot of water into an area that is potentially not able to sustain it. I'm not just buying into media hype or trying to scare anyone, it's just not looking too good because of how this storm is shaping up.

At least one oil platform has already reported sustained winds of 109MPH, so we know that he is mean as well in that regard.

I've been watching the news and yes it is another monster. Take it very seriously and leave.

I'm from Houston and don't know how the outside media is portraying this, but this has potential to be a monster. If it hits Galveston head on, it'll wipe it clean.

The path has it going up our main highway straight into downtown Houston.
