im noticing huge traaffic increase specifically from brazil.. it accounts for over 50% of all other countries.. anyone else noticing it? started about 1-2 months ago..

I see it clearly in google analytics..just alot of incoming connections to about 10 domains at a time.. no page viewing really.. just homepage and disconnect..

bodis does not filter it so my stats are all messed up and you can't tell how mny human visitors a domain gets any more

same for sedo.. and some page landers.. parkingcrew seems to be filter it out okay.. brnging total per day visits to PC to about 1/20 what it is at other park sites.

voodoo seems to filter that out too... not sure about dns... even sale lander sites like undevelopedcom throw the bots into their domain views.

anyone else seeing this or knows how to block or stop it? they add to my zero clicks too it seems.. but obviously thats exempt from payouts.

I started noticing this about a month or two ago also. A lot of junk traffic from Brazil.

I have nearly all of my domains parked with Fabulous and it's pretty easy to tell where the traffic is coming from and what is real. I was actually thinking of contacting them to see if they could filter it out before I read this.

Sorry, I'm no help as to why the sudden onslaught, I'm curious to see other replies.

I don't know where the extra traffic is from, but looking at my Bodis reports ..

Before October 21st : 4 to 6 visits a day.
From October 21st to November 9th : 19-25 visits a day.
November 10th to ..today: 55-65 visits a day.

It does not give me more clicks though.

We started blocking them a few months ago, we have like 10 companies we block and all of the ones from Brazil are most of them. They are some type of SEO company.

I meant more zero clicks.. not regular clicks.. I guess bots don't cclick on those lol

of course, whether you get more zero cclicks or not, ad providers will tell if bots or not.. so do not exxpect bots to make you richer in zero clicks ads. lol

thanks for your input. domain visit stats are importnat to some of us.. especially with niches which are yet to come such as virtual reality.

I am sure they will all fix it soon. I wrote to bodis. they are nice helpful people.

yes thanks. good for your own site lander and analytics

I still like to park my deomains so I'll need to wait for some companies to filter them out in stats. from their end. cheers. thanks

Yes true, i am noticing that on my Sedo parked names, thanks for sharing this info..

it's too bad really

cause this renders stats absolutely useless for those of us who may have niches where knowing how many human visits/interest is there in a given niche/domain.

among many niches, the future virutal reality niche comes to mind.

couple park companies I know who fixed it sems to be voodoo and parking. so if you're getting 1000 hits a day on your domains on bodiis or sedo etc.. you'd probably get 50-100 on same portofolio at parkcrew and voodoo.

Semalt.com is ruining my Sedo traffic stats. Why Sedo won't do anything about it, I have no idea. Constantly see "ranking-analytics.com" in the referral stats.

Yes i agree with you @xdomainer, most of the reference is from ranking-analytics.com

Bodis says they're aware of the problem and working on it. 51% of my parked traffic is from Brazil right now :(

Wrote about it a couple times and the parking companies do nothing except for Donny. It is called referrer spam

I had been noticing a steady increase in the traffic on some domain names that I have parked. Nothing huge but names going from 1 or 2 uniques a day to 6 or 7 uniques. When checking the referrer stats on Voodoo, I have been seeing an increasing number of referrals from Buttons โ€“ For โ€“ Websites, I have been seeing one referral a day on TLDinvestors.com for months, but the parked names have been seeing an increase. Buttons For Websites and others like Semalt are what is called referrer spam.

Raven Tools wrote about why it is a problem and how to stop it. From theRaven Tools blog:

.htaccess block is the best way, but some of these hijack your Google analytics ID and essentially fake visits, which shows up as referral spam.

I have two filters set in google analytics to block frequent referral spammers. Here are the strings:

darodar\.|semalt\.|buttons-for-website|blackhatworth|ilovevitaly|prodvigator|cenokos\.|ranksonic\.|adcash\.|simple-share-buttons\.|social-buttons\.|sitevaluation\.|semaltmedia\.|100dollars-seo\.|videos-for-your-business\.|webmonetizer\.|success-seo\.

4webmasters\.|trafficmonetizer\.|traffic2money\.|video--production\.|seo-platform\.|best-seo-software\.|justprofit\.|haosou\.|rankings-analytics\.|promotion-traffic\.|traffic2cash\.

Any time you see a referral spammer just add them to the filter string and it will not appear in your analytics.

Here are the .htaccess commands that I use to block the traffic as well:

RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} semalt\.com [NC,OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} buttons-for-website\.com [NC,OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} buttons-for-your-website\.com [NC,OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} best-seo-offer\.com [NC,OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} blogs.forum69\.info [NC,OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} 7makemoneyonline\.com [NC,OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} 4webmasters\.org [NC,OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} sitevaluation\.org [NC,OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} 100dollars-seo\.com [NC,OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} semaltmedia\.com [NC,OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} videos-for-your-business\.com [NC,OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} success-seo\.com [NC,OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} webmonetizer\.net [NC,OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} 4webmasters\.org [NC,OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} trafficmonetizer\.org [NC,OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} traffic2money\.com [NC,OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} seo-platform\.com [NC,OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} best-seo-software\.xyz [NC,OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} justprofit\.xyz [NC,OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} haosou\.com [NC,OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} rankings-analytics\.com [NC,OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} promotion-traffic\.com [NC,OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} traffic2cash\.net [NC,OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} ranksonic\.info [NC]
RewriteRule .* - [F]

We at DomainSponsor agree, this is a significant problem. We are constantly working to improve this on our platform by monitoring and blocking as much of this as possible. We have blocked many of these referrers over the past few months. With this being said as soon as we block one, another will crop up or they find a new way of hiding the traffic.

We also encourage and welcome your help on this front, the more eyes on this, the better. If you see any suspicious activity on your account like this let us know. We can investigate your traffic and block specific referrers for you. You can PM me directly, contact your account manager, or contact us at support/@/domainsponsor.com.
