How would you make a custom-domain redirect users to your blogspot?

I registered a custom domain (OddCharacters.net) with Moniker.com Now I need to know how to make blogspot/google redirect people who type in my custom-domain in their browsers to my blog (OddCharacters.blogspot.com), rather than lead visitors to Moniker's servers (see example below), which is not hosted by the domain registrar (Moniker).

However, I have to use Moniker to redirect my domain-name (custom domain) to the Google/Blogspot servers (at ghs.google.com).

Here's screenshots of the fields, which are available for me to change in the Moniker's Template Manager (please notice there is no CNAME-field in the 1st image below). I really just need to know *where* each of the addresses provided by Google must be inserted):

Where should all of this information (Google's server-details) be inserted on that page?

ODDCHARACTERS.NET A IN 216.239.32.21
ODDCHARACTERS.NET A IN 216.239.34.21
ODDCHARACTERS.NET A IN 216.239.36.21
ODDCHARACTERS.NET A IN 216.239.38.21

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

if i understand your question, it's pretty cut and dried. go to your domain list on moniker. put a check beside the domain (oddcharacters.net). now at the top of the list click on the UrlFwd button.

if you haven't purchased url forwarding from moniker, you'll get an opportunity to do that on the next page. it costs $2. after that, click on the name, enter the address it is to be redirected to, decide whether or not you want to mask the url and you're set.

moniker used to redirect names instantly but now it takes an eternity for it to take effect. so expect the name to point to a moniker parked page for at least three days.

Moniker isn't my web-hosting provider.

I appreciate your help. I also must meant to add that: Blogspot/Google is my desired-web hosting provider (not Moniker). Would any of you please tell me how to make Google/Blogspot redirect visitors from my custom-domain to my blog (hosted by google)?

Google is offering to host it for free, and Moniker only does it if you pay for that service.

Please see screenshots below (and tell me what to put in toe brackets displayed in those images):

Also: Please tell me what should I put in these fields so that I can make my custom-domain name direct visitors to my google/blogspot blog, rather than the Moniker servers? (see image, which shows default settings):

Lastly, would you please tell me exactly which addresses I should insert in any of those blank fields?

Moniker charges for basic url forwarding?

Yikes. Why do people, other than bulk domainers with many hundreds of domains, use Moniker anyways? Rambling on, but Moniker is making what should be a simple, free thing complicated.

The info you provided (see below) are Zone entries not Name Server entries.

ODDCHARACTERS.NET A IN 216.239.32.21
ODDCHARACTERS.NET A IN 216.239.34.21
ODDCHARACTERS.NET A IN 216.239.36.21
ODDCHARACTERS.NET A IN 216.239.38.21

And sadly, I bet Moniker doesn't support zone entries either without you having to pay, but they may ... heck, even NSI does for free, despite charging for url forwarding, but I digress.

Again, look around to see if Moniker has a place for you to add those zone entries. If they do, you would use Moniker's default DNS servers, and then add the zone entries.

With all that said, if all else fails, it may be easier to just pay the $2 or whatever and use Moniker's url forwarding, and then after 60 or so days transfer out to GoDaddy or wherever that offers free forwarding / dns services.

Yikes. Why do people, other than bulk domainers with many hundreds of domains, use Moniker anyways?

i've got just under 900 names registered with moniker and i do believe i've registered my last name there. this new 72-hour delay before they forward urls strikes me as just a blatant attempt to skim money by delaying a service we've already payed for.

there are registrars who do it for free or who charge less and who redirect the name immediately. i'll be using them from now on.

Both of you: Thanks for your help. I found the Zone Management section at Moniker.com. Would you please look at the google zone addresses I was given (below), and then tell me what to copy & paste in the fields seen in this screenshot of that section?:

Here are the zone entries, which Google suggests I insert into those fields at Moniker.com (As you can see there's less fields provided by Moniker than there are Google zone addresses, but there's space for me to add a CNAME address, so where should I add or paste all of those google addresses in that section?):

CUSTOMDOMAIN.COM. 3600 IN A 216.239.32.21
CUSTOMDOMAIN.COM. 3600 IN A 216.239.34.21
CUSTOMDOMAIN.COM. 3600 IN A 216.239.36.21
CUSTOMDOMAIN.COM. 3600 IN A 216.239.38.21
WWW.CUSTOMDOMAIN.COM. 3600 IN CNAME ghs.google.com.

Search google for

"Free Hosting"

and

"Page forwarding script"

Set them up in that order.

Good luck

Moniker is free for me. I need to know where to put those google addresses at that page (see screenshot):

See Zone Management section:

Code:
CUSTOMDOMAIN.COM. 3600 IN A 216.239.32.21
CUSTOMDOMAIN.COM. 3600 IN A 216.239.34.21
CUSTOMDOMAIN.COM. 3600 IN A 216.239.36.21
CUSTOMDOMAIN.COM. 3600 IN A 216.239.38.21
