Hi,
I have a few domains I domains to sell/transfer. All are registered at goDaddy. I don;t understand the nuts and bolts of what to do when I find a buyer. I hear of the terms Push and Transfer. Just not clear what the actual steps are for either of these. And not sure how to find out. I tried some googling and Youtubes but didn't find anything useful. Mostly I found info how to transfer my domain to another ISP. Not quite the same thing! All help appreciated. Thanks!

FYI... these are just domains. No web sites.

A push is a transfer to another domainer with a Godaddy account - this is a form of transfer, but most people refer to transfers as a change of ownership to a domainer who uses a different registrar, The registrar transfer is a "pull" because the new owner initiates the transfer, Transfers within a registrar are "pushes" because the current owner initiates the transfer.

I belive Godaddy has a fairly comprehensive article about the processes.

I have accounts at GoDaddy and NameCheap. Where else would be good to have accounts? Thanks!

You don't need accounts all over the place if you don't have domains registered elsewhere. Just stick with where you are for now, see where it takes you.

Agree, particularly if you are just starting out. Focus on a few, and familiarise yourself with their processes. As you become more experienced, you can then branch out to other registrars....

Both Godaddy and Namecheap are almost the best place now, so I think you don't need other places else. If you need to transfer domains between them, you should read their instruction here:

Transfer domain names to GoDaddy: https://www.godaddy.com/help/transfer-domain-names-to-godaddy-1592
Transferring Domain Names to Another Registrar: https://www.godaddy.com/help/transferring-domain-names-to-another-registrar-3560

Good luck to you,

:$: Domain.com, MyDomain.com, Dotster.com, NetFirms.com, FastHosts.co.uk, Register.it - they're a must if you want to register or transfer-in domains at big discounts :$:

In addition to the above, NameSilo.com and maybe Dynadot.com, too - these may come in handy if you're planning on buying at NP auctions.

This said, no hurry really. You can set up accounts when the need arises.

I put a domain into GoDaddy Auctions yesterday...but not if it appearing! The search tools don't seem to allow for searching by the domain name itself... or I just don't see where to do that.

It may still be in pending status. You should have received an email from GoDaddy to authorise the auction listing?

You could always re-try by deleting and re-listing it?
