Domain transfer

I've never transferred a domain across companies before. I'm looking to do transfer a domain over to godaddy but I'm not sure how it's done. The place where I registered it first are asking for an IPSTAG which I cant find on godaddy.

What's the procedure for this and how do I find the IPSTAG for godaddy?

i dont know what IPSTAG means but to transfer a name to another registrar u have to unlock the domain in the control panel and w the authorization code u transfer it (them)... u use this auth code in the registrar where u want to transfer the domain to... in this new registrar (godaddy here in the case) u go to "my account" and then to "pending account changes" and procced w the transfer

well the domain was registered on my behalf by a hosting company and there isnt an actual domain control panel. I asked for a transfer and they said they need an IPSTAG.

hmm

sounds like your best bet is to tell your hosting company that you need the "AUTHCODE" or "authorization code" to transfer your domain. Wherever it was registered has that information.
