How to successfully negotiate private sells

I'd love to start initiating private sales, as I've seen a BUNCH of the big sells are private ones.

I just really have no idea how to seek out "end" users and really sell my domain.

Things I'd love advice on:

* How to go about finding these end users
* How to really "sell" my product through my description, etc
* The most effective way to contact them (email, phone, etc)
* The best way to send/receive payments via the internet

And anything else you wanna sprinkle on top!

I honestly appreciate any help,

3* Phoning them attempting to sell them a product (a domain name) may very well land you a huge fine. It may also land them a UDRP win against you. To solicit an offer from them is basically to admit that you registered the name in bad faith (according to many panelists), with the sole intention of reselling the name for a profit. Stick to email and make sure you search uspto.gov beforehand if there's any doubt in your mind about potential TM implications.

4* Payments are best done through Escrow.com. I know ways to easily scam someone with PayPal (I don't use them however)... But this isn't the place to share such tips -- just be aware that there are ways around PayPal.

I'm a bit confused mate...it seemed as if he were asking a general question.

Say he owned Mattress.com (darn that Tempurpedic company!) and started cold calling at various mattress manufacturers....that's not going to land a UDRP in his lap. However, if he owned Tempurpedic.com and called up Tempurpedic...that could be a problem.

I can't really speak in terms of any fines, don't know the laws on that sort of thing.

Dont really sit on that belief...end users are very easy ONLY if the name is extremely good (Mattress.com should be receiving 20+ enquiries per month). Most of us here don't have that kind of names. We have to market them actively to sell them

*Actively email enduser (whois.sc)
*Stay on top of new technologies, register the category killing domain .com, or .net
*Join Afternics new listing service. Sedo.
*Look up advertisements in the back of magazines.
*Check Google advertisers with your keyword term.
*Promote locally (it works!)
