I am just curious that how you can sell your domain over $1000 ? Do you need to create a successful site with much traffic for that domain or the domain name just has good brand name ?

Good domains dont need development, bad ones or just o.k domains need construction for sure to be worth more then reg fee. Unless of course its an oddball that someones willing to pay you for it.

Simply put if you want to sell a domain for big money it must be worth that amount in the first place... If the domain is not good most likely nobody will want it.
If the domain is average then you can increase value by developing it into a site/business. Even then value will mostly reside in development and possible revenue arising from development.

Firstly u must think even if these domain has such value like $1000 or more a domain like ihavgot3dogs.net is not a domain that you would want to sell for $1000 or even $500 but a domain like yeeha.com will be a $1000 or more than that but if u have another name that is good then that will need developing a genuine website idea not a website like any other and a custom design then this kind of domain can be sold for $1000 or more hope u understood

If you cross your fingers is not also a bad option because we so many resellers - domainers out there you need some luck too (except the research and knowledge)

Selling over $1000 mmm...

I would tell you how te make over $1000...
selling domains at $200.-

/Then tell me if it's easier than other ideas (or not)./

1) Pick up a PR4 Expired domain with solid backlinks.
2) If it's possible, check that it has at least 1 Google indexed page.
3) Keep the domain with you for 1 or 2 months since it could loose
it's PR, but if the backlinks remain, you get your PR back.

Your cost: $8. You can setup a page where to sell all your
PR domains for $200 or more (just to say something).

If you sell them here, price could be lower.

Actually,a good traffic will be a bonus (value added) to your site.The most important thing is your domain name.

I just read that someone from Afternic forum who have emailed around 300 emails to related company to sell his domain name.His domain name theme was about aerospace.

Guess what? He just succeded to attract a bid for $5k Usd

If you want to sell a domain name for over $1,000 , there are three princoples, no four

1. It must be a one word dictionary domain name. Words that can be found in a dictionary

2. Alternatively, 3character domain but better still two character domains i.e xf.com or mvp.com

3. Use a the premium listing services of sedo.us or afternic.com to market them

4. If you have monetised your domain i.e parked it or has adsense revenue you could sell it for 24months to 120months revenue depending on the Buyer.
