I have this one domain, where I constantly get emails from people asking to purchase it. It is a two word "credit" .com domain, which esitbot values at $xx,xxx... It is one of my gems, and would like to get max value for it, as I do own other domains, and would like the money to do some other things. My question is how to respond to a request, without showing weakness, or without giving a price, for all I know this person could be willing to pay $50 for it, but it is parked at sedo, and gets over 2000 uniques per month, and the emailer would have seen this if he typed the domain and came to the landing page.

Thanks for help in advance.....

You need to develop a response template for the people contacting you that has the following points in it:

1) you *might* be willing to sell it
2) you value the domain
3) you won't let it go to the wrong person for the wrong price
4) you've previously received and turned down offers of $[price] -- make this up if you'd like

There are other things that need to be in there, but I've found for high-value domains with many potential end-users, you'll do well to have those four things pointedly described and elaborated on in the response email. The point is to make sure they don't believe you're desperate or in need. If they are always at the under hand of the deal, the deal will be in your control and you can craft the outcome much more easily.

Well although you say that you dont want to respond with a price,I would recomend having a price in your mind that you would be satisfied with. This way you can either tell the emailers to "send me your offer and we will go from there" or "tell them your price(bump it up 25% to 50% of your "in mind" price and negotiate from there.Always thank them for there interest ,tell them that although you are in no hurry to sell this domain because you are recieving xamount of traffic and xamount of monthly income ,you have so and so plans for it,etc. etc.,you will consider selling for the right price.

Just keep it short,sweet,to the point,and professional.GL
