Ok, well in the next month or sooner I will be launching my own domain name selling website. It will list my own domains for sale via a shopping cart style built site. My question though is this...

As this site will be hopefully more geared for end users looking for a good domain name (think a buy domains type store but much cheaper) how do I market this site. I know I can list and talk bout it here and other domainer fourms but im looking to reach out to a bigger audience. Looking for those people in the web design and building field. Although I know a lot of webmaster forums they to have domain marketplace post where people are selling lousy names for $x to $XXX hoping to get rich.

If you have a domain name wesbite that you sell domains from what is your audience and where do you market? I was thinking going outside the box thinking like a end user where as my main thing is problaly going to be thinking of things like; software to build the site (so places or forums that talk and discuss web software), building SEO (setting up keywords, tricking out the meta tags for SEO etc) Sorry for rambling but just want to know in a nutshell how to market outside of domain forums for users looking for domains.

Thanx for all and any input.

Depends on the domains.

If they are related to Cars and Aftermarket Products for Cars then you can advertising on car forums or in places where car entrepreneurs go.

Finding End Users is a vast and broad as finding a date or some food. Totally depends what kind of a date or what kind of food you are after.

Well, the first thing I would do - and frankly, this is what I plan to do to DomainBeautiful.com, when I finish it - is create an affiliate program for the site at www.shareasale.com . Creating an affiliate site there is inexpensive. I would then purchase ads both here, dnjournal and abestweb.com, advertizing the terms of the affiliate program for potential affiliates. By offering a generous, say, 10% commission to your affiliates, you will soon have 50-100 individuals marketing your site in relevant areas. With some good affiliate management practices, that number will grow every month.

Great advice RogueWriter.

I will do that myself :)

Reps added..

But...I was also thinking about scammers with the affiliate program. One more layer of egregious bad actors to worry about...especially if commissions reach into the hundreds or higher.

It's not that expensive once you have the program up and running, from that point on, it's basically commission based sales...if the affiliate's traffic doesn't generate a sale, they do not get paid....
