.mobi How to make money with MOBI

Seems like there is much consternation over a sales thread and thought I would post my 2 cents about it:
----------------

Rule # 1 - For crying out loud, think for yourself. Certainly listen to people with opposing views but at the end, it's your freaking money! Don't fall into someone's mousetrap because that person has inordinate amount of free time on his hands!

Rule # 2 - Money can be made in ANY extension, including poor "mobey"

Rule # 3 - Are you a speculator? Do you want to develop? Who cares!? Why do you have to justify your purchase to anyone? I don't see dotCOM, or dotNET investors/developers justifying their purchases, do you? Do you want to develop it for the "ecosystem"? Great, do it! Do you want to be a lazy ass (like me) and buy/sit on some of them for couple of years to see if you can hit the jackpot? That's great too!

Rule # 4 - If naysayers are right about the mobi future, guess what? you lose your money! I hope you invested with money that you can afford to lose!

Rule # 5 - If mobi naysayers are wrong about the future, do you think they will give you money in the future to make up for that lost opportunity? I think not!

Rule # 6 - Oh no, Google is not using mobi! Oh no Yahoo is not using mobi! Do you know what I hear? Blah, blah, blah. Who the *&^% cares! What about BofA, FoxNews, etc? Yeah, it would get a nice boost get some of these tech titans to use mobi but most large corporations are NOT trailblazers. Find a profitable niche and exploit it and make some freaking money!

Rule # 7 - Don't register crap names like MyHotelYourHotelIloveHotel.mobi. If you want it, you better plan on developing it with SEO in mind because you are not going to resell that crap. And yeah, that's crap whether it has mobi, com or any other extension after it.

Rule # 8 - Grow some thick skin and don't let others upset you so much. One person's opinion will certainly not make or break any domain market. Any title, including "Staff Emeritus" does not make him or her a Guru, Oracle, or expert. If that person can predict the future, I would like to pay him and play some lottery tickets.

Rule # 9 - I respect NamePros forum. It has a ton of helpful people who are like you, trying to make money. I don't necessarily agree with how certain aspects of the forum are conducted but you know what? I don't own this forum and spend thousands or dollars in hosting fees every month! I follow the rules and ignore all other noises, because they are in fact, noises. If you can't stand the noise, you have the freedom to go to d*forum or any other places of your choosing!

Rule # 10 - You may disagree or agree with me. That's okay too. I value your point of view, but that is as far as it goes. My financial life will certainly not depend on your recommendations, nor should it for anyone else.

Life is freaking short.

Work and play hard because you may not be around tomorrow!

Hi Fred-

I agree that MyHotel (whatever extension) is NOT crap.

I was simply trying to give an example of how some people try very hard to squeeze blood out of a stone....
