How to Make Logos

Hey I want to make a few logos for a few sites I have and was wondering what programs people use to make logos or any tips or tricks. I really like the reflection affect could anyone tell me how to do this?

For the reflection effect:

(1) Create the image to be reflected.
(2) Copy the image.
(3) Flip the copy vertically and place it below the original.
(4) Skew the copy to give the angle of reflection.
(5) Reduce the opacity of the copy.

Simple.

Search youtube for "web 2.0 logo" and there are a lot of videos showing you how to make very nice logos.

what program are you using?

the best one (imo) is illustrator, as it is vector based, and has some ace features.

I think aaalogo at http://www.aaalogo.com has a pretty good program that can help you make logo with ease if you are not very good making one.

photoshop and illustrator are key tools to logo design or any graphics work.
The fastest way to learn is to pick up a book or magazine with some tutorials on some designs that you like and just following the tutorial. It can be very very educational and actually creating a design and using the programs hands on is the best practice that there is.
