Hi,

I was wondering how you can get free website templates to put on your site for users to download. I see hundreds of "wordpress theme" and "website template" sites where so many of the same templates are posted- but where do they get them ? Are they just posting them without permission ? How does this work ? I know that there are many sites that design the templates themselves, but clearly the same templates are posted on dozens of websites for download so I'm trying to figure out how I can also get them and legally put them on a website for users to download.

Thanks

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Templatemonster, for example, states: "TemplateMonster provides templates both by in-house and freelance designers"

The best way is probably to hire some designers to make you some incl. reseller rights, this way you as well get something nobody else has - the best reason for people to visit your site.

There is nothing wrong in it. Most free templates are released under condition that you leave a link to the original author intact. They also allow redistribution. You will be able to distribute them using your website. Just check the license and terms of use to be sure.

I would go the easy route and link to Wix.com or Webstarts.com. They both have free web templates and users can purchase for hosting with their own domain names if they choose.

Yeah, most template are free, the template designer actually love to giving out the template as long as the attribution not removed..It is win win situation.

I'm sure there are some phpLD template designers that wouldn't mind you adding their templates if you keep the links intact in the footer of the templates.
