Depends on the domain... That's not relatively high at all for CPC nor exacts.

Search volume is not the only factor which decides the pricing of a domain.
Nobody can tell u the price without looking at the domain itself.
Wait for more answers and if you really want to get that domain,PM any reputed member here(preferable a mod) with the domain(don't make it any practice though) to get some opinion about it.

Read, read, read a lot and then you will be able to see yourself whether a domain is worth regging or not.I hope that helps.

1000+ Exact?
$1 cpc

There is a lot more to it that those 2 numbers.

Here are a few of the things you need to look at.

1. How much competition does Google adwords say it has for the exact keyword search? Low, Medium or High?
2. Perform the actual "keyword search" on Google and see how many advertisers are on the top and right side of the page.
3. Look at the local search trends on Google adwords....are they consistent or are they up and down and really inconsistent?
4. Domain age can, but not always, play a role. Did you just register it or did you buy it from namejet or another user...go to domaintools.com to get an exact age. If you picked it up from a droplist, then domain age really doesn't matter.
5. Go to archive.org and see the history of the domain name. Does it have a long history?
6. Go to name.com and see if it is gone in a lot of extensions. Thats a pretty good indication that people like the keywords.
7. Names that contain hyphens and numbers are worth less (not worthless), then the names without numbers and hyphens, unless the name is strictly numbers.
8. Go to namebio.com or dnsaleprice.com and see if those keywords together have a history of sales...look at the keywords individually and see if there are any sales at all for those individual words.
9. Last and only last go to either valuate.com or estibot.com and see what they think.

Enjoy

Well if it's going to be a hand-reg then it's worth regfee. You could also try Estibot.com to give you some idea how much it might be worth.

Questions:

1. Would buyers shy away from a .net for sale, when the .com looks like a successful e-commerce site (e.g. affiliate site) owned by someone else? I'm thinking that potential buyers would be turned-off by the thought that they would have to contend with competition with the .com site if they go for your .net domain.

2. Would it make sense to acquire a .net when the .com is up for sale by someone else? Example, i see dot coms owned by BuyDomains listed for 4K. Can you snatch the .net and hang a tag for a much lower price say 2K? I want to put up an affiliate site on this .net and make it more attractive for resell. I think buyers are trying to avoid buying a domain that is sitting next to a TLD version that is already running some kind of legitimate business already. If i get successful running a business on this dot net, the dot com owner might have a hard time getting a buyer for his price tag and may eventually try to contact me to sell his domain at a marked down price.

1. No? If an enduser has a plan for the domain name and it gets good search results, and has a good number of "exact" searches per month, why not. There is always competition for keywords. I've found that .com and .net domains perform well with google. Who cares if the .com is a successful website. Just create a good website with better seo and get listed right below or above them on page 1. They will get traffic and they will make sales.

Do a search for "debt options" without quotes on yahoo, (on page 10 for google....?) you will see the .com site is #1....my site is #3. Who cares, .com and .net are king when it comes to search engines.

If I decided to stay away from the .net because the .com was a developed site, I would have to use a brandable name and I would not get ranked, well not as quick, I've only had this name for 3 weeks. The domain name is the #1 thing, tied with Backlinks, that google looks for when ranking domains. Next would be title, description, on page SEO and then keywords. The order may change depending on who you talk to.

So to sum it up, I believe the only thing holding back .net is the fact that .com is king. .Net domains rank and thats the bottom line. I will always buy a .net, its a very powerful extension. Yep, the 'old timers' are right, you may not get the type-in-traffic, but that's not as good as it used to be. Today, search engines hold the keys to success. :sold:

Unfortunately I have only had the opposite happen to me. Someone came to me and said we are interested in obtaining "domain.com(made up)" from me and told me that Buy Domains had the .net for sale for $2000, and told me if I would match the price for my .com they woudl buy it... I said NOPE and asked for $3500, they emailed me back again and told me they would not budge from there $2000 offer and would be happy obtaining the .net instead. I told them thank you and good luck... a week later they came back and bought it for $3500... People usually don't want the .net for any type of large development where money will be spent... its like EVERYTHING else in the world... no one sets out to draft the second best rookie available... everyone wants the best, if they cant have that THEN they settle...

ON A SIDE NOTE: I woudl NEVER develop a .net where the .com was an affiliate site for something similar. My guess would be $.50 of every dollar spent on advertising would be blown as .com is king and that is the only mindset the average consumer thinks in...

The price depends on the domain (how old, short, memorable is it).

Tip:

Can't post a domain for appraisal in that section unless you already own it ;)
