Is there much/any value in domains that are recipes? I have seen several searches that people do that are clearly for recipes, for example mashed potato or gin and tonic (just examples) When looking to see if the domain is available, they sometimes are and the figures look pretty good. 8,100 Exact searches and Avg CPC of $1.15
Are these worth registering with a view to flip in .com .net or .info ?

What is your view? Would reg?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

I think they are worth a punt. In .com only.

I would look at history and for any bans with affiliates. Recipe site were big a while back. And like most trends cons and scams find there way into it. So you want to see a good clean history with back links and perhaps PR before I would invest too much. Also your going to need to have original content and "that" will be a chore. If you buy some regurgitated recipe zip fies bought and sold 10K times thinking you will zoom to page one on G[][]G you are mistaken.

I think the real value in a "recipe" site would be in unique development and original content. A secure membership site with newsletter and maybe even a forum ..... Not exactly a "FLiP" description.

I have been thinking the same thing, I have a couple names on my list that are not reg'd. Getting exposure and having people post their recipes is what needs to be done. I think its a viable niche, and could very well be a worthwhile endeavour.
