I don't see why age makes any difference at all. As long as you can pull your weight and contribute to the forum, 13, 27, 46, 51, 68, 125, who cares? Some teens can run circles around more experienced people, and vise versa.

I'm 42 now... but I'll be 27 later this year.

What do I think of young people getting into web design? Well... young people have to do something. I suppose it's either web design or McDonalds.... wow... that's a tough choice!

lol...ok ok. Well, Gene...I didn't say age made any difference. I was just wondering what your alls thoughts were. I see 13 year olds getting into the biz now. At 13 I was worried more about pimples, than anything, lol. I know one 15 year old who runs their own hosting company. I think it is good that more and more younger people are getting into this kind of thing. Better than what most do.

Version2, Don't start counting from here. This is just a few replys to a thread.
Dont assume what you see directly in front of you to be the whole picture. That would be a common mistake of youth, never allow yourself to be considered common, you are not.
If you want to know the avg. you might want to go to the 229 pages of the members list and poll the other 15,000+ plus about age. Then you will have a "true graph", and I would be interested to know the sum. Wagering a guess, 50/50 under/over 21, moving toward under daily.

As to your question "What do you older men/women think of all us young people getting into the domain/web design world?"

Personally, I believe were it not for the bright, creative, educated, skilled, talented,..... every other adjective, young minds, there wouldn't be a web as expansive and as informational as we have today. Youth brings the fresh concepts that raise the bar daily, keeping this "Last Frontier" ever expanding~ farther than ken and the boys from MIT could have hoped for.

This is truly your world, and we are just dinosaurs too pea-brained to know we are extinct. (anyone over 50 that wants to argue this with me, let's do it in PM not in this thread... under 50, I dont mean you...but you'll understand soon enough )

But before we die off, let us leave you with one thing we do know about, and you will need to know to enjoy life to it's fullest.

Very old, over used, dried up sayings... but are basic and the sooner learned and applied, the easier life becomes.

Think before you speak, know that words are powerful and reflect as well as inflict.... look before you leap, all is not always as it appears on the surface... and try to listen close to those who have been where you are now.

We offer a free map and compass, tools to help you find your own way. These will give you the freedom to explore, leaving the direction you choose up to you...and if you happen to get lost or hit a dead end on your journey, remember you have that map and compass to guide you out, and if you happen to see our mark or our fathers mark on a stone where you thought no man had been before, know it then, precious youth... Actually, I had a paper route in the 70's.. delivered over 2500 papers door to door every night in Hollywood, Florida. We'd get the papers at 1 am, have them folded and bagged by 3, and delivered by 6:30 am (hopefully )... we had the second largest route.

I used to live right near Hollywood in Pembroke Pines before I moved to the Orlando Area.
