Hello guys.
I have LLLL.com refer to a big International Company.
They contacted me regarding purchasing my domain.
What is the best price to ask for it.
They are waiting for my respond.
Kindly advice.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I love threads like this where we watch potential sales unravel. They can be very informative and teach us newbies a lot. I hope a sale is agreed upon. Good luck!

In their financials did you see any other domain purchases. Any reported sales from other companies in the same market? Reference material for a higher price.

No.
I didn't check it.

Just go to namebio, pull the highest sales for last couple of years for LLLL.coms, sort them by price, exclude the ones that are clearly not relevant (for example, english popular dictionary word) and the ones below your minimum threshold and send them the list to give them an idea of the worth of your domain and say you'd expect an offer similar to those or better to consider the sale. Otherwise, you are happy to keep the name for future development.

There's too much fluff recommended... forget their financials, and name bio.

They made an offer well above registration and renewal costs, so now tell them your price and that the price reflects the compensation for your good will and existing interest in the domain name.

Then leave it at that, nothing else needs to be said other than a negotiation.

Now it's time to play Deal or No deal...

They will counter, and will eventually give you a price that will be difficult to resist - then you accept or don't. Take your time, and don't rush.

Good luck.

This is a public company and they have certain accountability. Comparable sales might justify for the management why they are paying in xx,xxx-xxx,xxx for a name.

Below is the list of all LLLL.coms that sold in PAST YEAR for $30,000 and above. The list is long enough and they can see that it is not unusual to pay that kind of name for virtual asset.

They offered me today $100.
I replied that the domain worth at least 5 figures.

This is great news!
This initial offer is to throw you off your game plan and lower your expectations.
Stay firm and polite, don't let pride or anxiety get the best of you.
Every time they respond to take several minutes to review your counter and RE-read this entire thread before responding.
Without a doubt you have a xx,xxx sale in hand.

One of the reasons I love namepros and hate to miss a day is the help you get when you are in a dillemma. You become a good domain salesman if you read and apply most things you learn here in very dicey situations so you won't leave money on the table.@SirDrago,@domainzy(done business with him;)) and others on this thread are tactical.
Best of Luck Uwon and hope you close this sale in high figures. One More thing is to be patient if you don't hear from them and as they have started offering you figures, they would definitely add more 000 so it all ends in your favor.

What if they didn't contact me again regarding my domain?

Forget about them and keep renewing it..... Don't sell it either to anyone else. Just let it stew.....

With their stock symbol being an exact for your domain and with their valuation..... IMHO I'd just put it on the shelf and forget about it.

Agreed but I would place a simple landing page on it saying "This domain might be for sale." And a way to contact you.
That way you can at least build a client list if they don't.

By the way, here is an advise. If you have a very good name like some here do, including dna, search, camera etc. negotiate also to get stock in the startup. That could be eventually worth more than you'll ever make domaining.

It's not a bad idea to make it into something simple that at minimum allows people to contact you through an eMail address based with that domain.

This way you can establish 'use' of the domain. They could wait many months and then take the position that you are not 'using' the domain. Again, it's a long shot that they do this... but it's better to protect yourself than not to.

Don't email them, let it be.

The right move for them would be to buy the domain now and at your price. Companies don't realize that the longer they wait the more it is going to cost, or you might not want to sell it at all and realize what you've got there.

It's going to take a lot of strength for you not to eMail them back, especially if you have never waited a long time with an inquiry.

Just be patient and keep doing what you are doing.

How did you respond to the $1000 offer?
- I have sent them sales history for some similar domains.
- Also that I have already received higher offers in the past, which is true.
