How much to quote an end user

I've been experimenting with contacting end users to sell some of my domains. I've started with my LLL.com's, sending emails out to those companies who have an exact acronym match, the perfect targets I think for any domain. In less than an hour I sent out about 20 emails just from Googling and finding contact info on company websites. Well I've already had nearly half of the people email me back the same day asking for a price!

How much should I quote them? Should it differ based on the kind of business they are? Like one is a bank another is a home builder another is a software development company etc. I paid mid x,xxx for the domains if that matters.

Thanks for any tips, whether relevant to LLL's or not, because I'll soon be doing this with other domains as well.

I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be happy making anything less then 100% on the name. So for your minimum price double your purchase price. Other then that determine the yearly revenue of the companies and after that it's a risk. This is the problem with selling domains, if you say 15k and they accept...would they have accepted at 30k? If you say 30k will they balk and then you lose a 15k sale?

I don't think you really should quote a price . Tell em that a few other parties have expressed serious interest in the domain and it would be convenient if they could just place a bid of $xxxx( your reserve) and above . That way you get a fair price to sell it and once it in the auction .. a few other buyers may also join the action .

If it's me, I would NEVER send unsolicited email to sell LLL.com!
Did you ever heard the term UDRP?

I don't send many such email, but, if I do, it's only limited to domains
that I value under $1K as UDRP fee is $1.5K.

So, even if potential buyer want to file UDRP, it will cost them $1.5K + legal fees
and I probably ask less than UDRP fee.
